If you could do it all over again, knowing what you know now, what career path would you choose out of college?

I would have continued my passion as a football and business and went into front office work as an intern at a pro football team.
Is that like a Griffin or a Liger?
He's not a football man, he's a football, man.
It better be rewarding... I'm going through apps now... I think I'm losing 7 years of my life every essay I write or app I fill out.
At the moment, if I could do it all over, I prolly would've finished my application to Ross and see what life would've been like having a super nice curve in all my classes and getting a potential 6 figure job right out of college in finance.
But hey, medicine will be worth it.
Well nothing like being in our 30s once residency is done and finally living the life like our friends who've been doing that since their 20s LOL.
I'm Neuroscience too. Seeing other classmates travel and live the life on social media is not good for one's mental health sigh...
You won't be living the life of your friends at that point. You'll be building your career and paying off your debt. It's generally your late 30s or early 40s.
And in today's climate, the ROI on that is getting worse. Don't go into medicine for the money is always good advice.
I would do it all over again.
I would create a blog based on my favorite university's athletic program.
college baseball coach.
or a ladies bicycle seat. /classic jackie mason
I would have tried for a career path that led to me being the Grand Poobah of the Loyal Order of the Water Buffaloes. Even if this does bring me into direct conflict with Fred and Barney . ..
I would've angled for the Stonecutters.
Taking step 1 on Friday. I hate my life at present, and would not change a thing.
I'd have gotten the same degree (computer science). But, I'd have skipped the 10 years I lost getting a chemical engineering degree and realizing that's not what I really wanted to do with my life.
Second place would be a medical career. But to do so, I'd need the ability granted to me to WANT to get up that early in the morning and to give away 10 years of my life working up to actually being a fully-fledged doctor. I was smarter than all of my friends that became doctors so I occasionally wish I'd gone through all that so that I could be doing what they do now.
Space Cowboy
Gangster of love
EECS (heavy on the CS) or Mechanical Engineering
Probably structural engineering. I have worked with a lot of structural and civil engineers on cell phone tower/rooftop-mounted antenna projects, and for some reason, I find "kips" interesting.
Either Civil and Environmental Engineering or PITE. Probably PITE because let's be honest I'm not that great at math. And then gone into something related to climate change adaptation or mitigation.
I would have followed my heart and tried to work in Hollywood in some capacity. I love that particular storytelling medium and its structure.
I'm not too crazy about being a dentist... It has its rewards but it's certainly not my passion.
I do what I do well.
I certainly don't groan or half-ass my way through a procedure but I'm not the only person I know in my profession who feels this way... There are friends of mine who work less than me and make more but just aren't crazy about the work.
But that's being an adult, I guess.
that dentists have the highest suicide rate of most any profession. if true, can you tell us why that might be?
I mean, would it have really impacted your choice in dentists? I'm sure there's at least a veneer of passion around patients.
So this thread of ~30 replies has multiple dentists and a hygienist with at least some level of dissatisfaction.
Not exactly what I had hoped to see as a recent, indecisive graduate who just spent $415 for the privilege of taking the DAT.
