If you could do it all over again, knowing what you know now, what career path would you choose out of college?

Just wish I had better fishing close by. I know an ER doctor who only work Fri Sat Sun and that does sound like a good gig. Get Mon-Th to fish or chase birds. I would be divorced in a 6 weeks. You gotta make sacrifices for the things you love.

have been very impactful and fun, but I would like to have done a better job writing papers/doing research earlier and learned more to be able to supplement my pay better and learn more about really high level physics/chemistry.  I also wish I had started doing youtube videos of chemistry songs way earlier.

Computer Engineering undergrad and Medical School after. Now a plastic surgeon. I think the grass is always greener somewhere else. I loved engineering and loved physics. Having done plastic surgery, I think I'd go back to engineering. Although, I certainly would miss the paycheck.

Wow.  It's like almost every poster on the board is a physician.  Didn't realize everyone was a Doctor.

I wouldn't change much.  I had intended on Law School but then worked at a high caliber Environmental Law Firm after undergrad and realized daily lawyering was pretty lame..  I spent time in some very fun jobs after undergrad with no real intention on making any of them a full time career.  All these years later what I hear from some of my friends from MICHIGAN is that they wish they hadn't been so career-focused right after undergrad and instead had gone to do something ...be a ski bum, beach bum, surf bum, etc. and then get serious.  For my Class at MICHIGAN, the Tech & Telecom industries were just beginning to heat up so many friends went that route.  A few years later most were out of those jobs, hadn't saved much money and were in the same boat I was, having worked for Burton Snowboards for five years and having a blast!

I would have taken a position, even if for less money, outside Pennsyltucky.  I'm in so deep (career advancement, pension, etc) now that my only hope is early retirement.

My son is going to be a freshman next fall and the two things I keep reinforcing to him are 1.  Avoid debt as much as possible and 2.  Get where you want to be before you put down roots.

Apologies if someone already posted, but this should be an easy question. I would become a stock trader or sports gambler and go all in on a major hedge fund or commodity trade - or a fluke 1 in a million sports bet. I'd then be first to market with Facebook, Twitter, etc and basically sit back as the next bill Gates type figure - and yes I'd write a check to endow the head coaching positions.
