It's pretty clear that after what we all think is going to happen next week happens, and the soft 3 game schedule after that, that you have to give Peters a 3 game tryout.

The people who keep saying that O'Korn is better than Peters or he'd be playing are almost certainly right. But they're also completely missing the point. O'Korn is ineffective and turnover prone. I mean, 58 yards and 3/attempt. He is bad enough that there really isn't much downside to Peters playing. And O'Korn has no future beyond this year. Oh, so we might go 8-4 with O'Korn but we could maybe lose to Minnesota and go 7-5 with Peters? Pfffft. Who gives a shit? We're not beating WI, PSU or OSU with O'Korn. Yeah, maybe you go back to O'Korn for WI and OSU so Peters doesn't get destroyed by our pass protection, that's a valid consideration. But past that, at some level no matter what huddle deficiencies or other weaknesses he has that put him 3rd on the original depth chart they become meaningless. It's obvious O'Korn doesn't meet the expectations for the job. And while Peters probably isn't gonna succeed either, at least for this year, you have to try something different if the current plan isn't working. And you see what you have for the future and get him some experience.

I seriously doubt he could be worse and I guarantee he already has a rapport with Perry. He won state championships at Rice so he's not stranger to pressure. I wonder if his fake ID thing got him on Harbaughs permanent sh*t list? He's not Shane Morris either just because he came from the Detroit area Catholic league, before someone suggests that.

I bet O’Korn plays all of the seasons remaining QB snaps unless he is forced out by an injury or having to come out for a single play during a game. Peters isn’t better. Fucking deal with it

He's only had a couple starts and he's got happy feet, but with more playing time he may settle down. And no picks today. He didn't COST Michigan the game either, so there are things he's doing right.

You might check the text, conveniently still posted, in which I said "he didn't cost Michigan the game," referring to the Indiana game, which is demonstrably true, since Michigan won. No picks, no fumbles. Either one of those WOULD likely have cost Michigan the game. Not great, not horrible, and Michigan won their 500th Big Ten game. And it's only his third start. No picks and no fumbles but the worst performance in Michigan history? Also demonstrably untrue. Why exaggerate? If you're an oldster you'll remember how traditionally people show some class and moderate comments about their own players since, you know, it's your OWN TEAM, and you support the players ESPECIALLY when they struggle, since you need them for the rest of the season. It's easy to sit on your couch and trash people.

the problem is the lack of garbge time we've had this season so we can't see what Peters can do. Speight couldn't get us garbage time in September against cinci, or airforce. JOK got us 2 mins of it against Purdue. Our lack of game data makes this a huge circular argument.

I really cant imagine Dcaf is ahead of Peters

Now I know dcaf has had SOME training under Harbaugh but in the AA game and the polynesian Bowl Dcaf looked super raw and didnt seem to have a strong arm or any zip on the ball

On the other hand Peters didnt look bad in the spring game

If Dcaf IS ahead of Peters then our QB situation is much MUCH worse than everybody thinks

story than JOK was better in practice or Peters is too quiet. The spring game was light years between the two - and JOK played the last two spring games just like he did today and IU last year. Happy feet and no field vision. Peters has vision, progression, solid arm and physical presence. Either a Peters cannot grasp the playbook at all or there are politics between JH & Peters or some other big issue that no one will voice. The "quiet" comment by JH means something other than vocal power.

But I flat out refuse to believe that JOK is better than Peters. JOK doesn’t set his feet when he throws, misses wide open guys, throws into double/triple coverage, sails better bible screens, and runs backwards. Does he make some good plays? Once in a while yeah. I think the team and the fan base should expect more from a QB than “ please don’t turn it over.” Unless Peters can’t hand the ball off or actively throws it to the defense he’s an upgrade over JOK. If intangibles (like huddle command) are keeping Peters from PT I am questioning that decision. I know Harbaugh is a QB guru, which is why I believe Peters can play, but no one has seen what Peters can do in a non-garbage time situation in a live game, including Harbaugh. I don’t think he should start next week, but the coaches should plan to give him a series or two. The only reasons Peters should not see the field are if he’s sick/injured or JOK is setting the PSU secondary ablaze.
