Tom Brady sucked until midway through his rs junior year. I only remember one throw he made in his rs freshman year: a pick 6 against UCLA. So let's not label anyone a bust this early. QBs progress at different speeds. OTOH, I really don't see how he could be worse than O'Korn the last 2 weeks. I mean can he not hand the ball off and make 5 yard throws?

I don't think anyone can call him a bust when he hasn't played a down yet. The most telling sign is that he is third on this year's depth chart and we have seen plenty from the first two. Let's hope he steps up when his number is called. However, from The Wolverine and Chris Balas: "Their best people are on it, Harbaugh insisted, both coaches and players. Until redshirt junior Wilton Speight comes back, that includes O’Korn, who has struggled mightily since pulling a rabbit out of the hat against Purdue, but who is leaps and bounds ahead of redshirt freshman Brandon Peters (for those who don't want to believe it, believe it. If he were the answer, he’d be out there playing. There are reasons he’s not)."

It is depressing that everyone is blaming speight for regressing.. I'm not so sure he regressed in decision making etc.. He's the same guy behind a horrific oline which cannot pass protect. Last year we weren't great and run blocking but we were pretty good as pass pro for most of the year. Also we lost all our wr talent. It adds up

I’ve heard he wants be a head coach as well, but if UCLA has a bad year and fires mora I’m not sure how fisch would get hired there. UM needs offer fisch $1.5 million a year as OC and get him back, the play calling and creativity was so much better with fisch here

Not ready for what? To hand the ball off? Does he not know any plays into his 2nd year? What exactly does this mean because I take it to mean the only thing I can come up with: He can't do pre-snap reads. I would rather have a guy not going well pre-snap than not being able to read anything post-snap.

Seriously what does he is not ready mean?

The fact that you have no idea of WHY a QB may not be ready speaks volumes. You clearly have no idea what it means to QB an offense. “The only thing I can come up with...” === And yet you feel qualified to second guess the staff!!? It’s one thing to offer opinions based on what you see. You’re questioning coaches on things you DON’T see. And clearly wouldn’t understand if you did.

He asked a fair question that many of us would like an answer to.  Why is Peters not ready and how is it possible that he can't be a better option than jok?  Very fair.  There is most likely a good answer to that but we would like to know what it is.  I watch football all day every Saturday and jok is at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to qb play.  He cannot make a post-snap read.  That missed crossing route to Gentry on the deep ball he threw to Crawford was a mistake of a true Freshman - not a 5th yr Sr.  It was very clear in the 4th qtr that Harbaugh was not comfortable with him throwing and removed that uncertainty from the playbook.

We have two bad QBs and an offensive staff that struggles to scheme to their limited strengths. A healthy Speight threw 2 interception TDs against Florida, fumbled twice attempting to make hand offs against Cincy, and I think had only one fumble against Air Force in a pedestrian performance, albeit his best this season. If we don't have 3 defensive TDs and a 78 yard punt return score in that span I'm not sure we would of went 3-0. Not to mention we had Black then who is one of our top 2 receivers.
