If Hoke is Retained...
I have read several times on the board today that if Hoke is retained they will basically quit watching/going to the games, and that will be the final straw. If he does stay on as head coach, what will you do? Sort of a fill in the blank, If Hoke is still here next year ___________.
For me, if Hoke is still here next year, I will conclude that we really can't have nice things.
It feels like the longer this drags out, the more likely this scenario plays out, but I really hope that is not the case.

mgrowold may hear you, and he is worried, goddamnit.

...and for anyone who says "if Hoke stays I'll quit watching." GOOD! LEAVE! GTFO!
What is that phrase, "natural selection?"
I wish we could identify those people and remove them from the fanbase now...because comments like that only come from your idiot fan to begin with.
If you want to pull your donation, fine...that's understandable. You shouldn't have to spend your hard earned money on something you don't agree with. But if you're going to say some shit like I'll stop being a Michigan fan. Then leave now. No one was forcing you to be a fan anyway.
As for the Hoke thing...some of you just need to chill out. He's gone. You don't have to bitch and moan about it every second of every day.
Because you are going to be the same person bitching and moaning about how we've botched the search when we have no coach in 4-5 weeks and other teams have hired "their man."
You can't have what you want. You can't fire Hoke today and hire Jim Harbaugh in 2 weeks. It's not going to happen. So chill. Harbaugh, Harbaugh, Mullen and Miles all have games to coach. They're not a hot assistant coach on the rise, they're not a hot mid-major head coach on the rise. You're talking NFL and SEC. That's different from looking at the offensive coordinator at Oregon, head coach at Wyoming and head coach at a DII school.

Whoa wait what? Rich Rod had a better record?
In what Universe is 15-22 .405 better than 31-20 .608?

Yeah, watching the 2014 Michigan football season on a loop for eternity.

He better not stay... I refuse to coach for the Jets or Raiders.

I will watch games, but I wouldn't pay for tickets if I still lived there. If Hoke stays, it means they will be giving the fans hamburger and charging them for filet mignon.
That being said, I don't think there is any possible way that Hoke keeps his job. I would be shocked if there weren't already negotiations going with the agents of the coaches they want.

1st, I will projectile vomit. 2nd, I will begin using hallucinogens quite often. Then, I will think the games are being played in Bat Country and the score will be of no consequence.

I think Hoke has changed the tide on the rivalry. Hell people in Ohio are starting to believe him. Never in a million years I would have thought that. Selling hamburger is a good start.

And to think most people are skipping right past this comment. +1.

I'm a lifer. It's what I do. I rooted for RichRod until the end. I rooted for Hoke until the end, and I will root for the next guy until the end.

I would shrug my shoulders, fiend for the start of the next football season, watch every game, and cheer on the team as usual.
December 1st, 2014 at 1:07 PM ^
Under this scenario, Hoke never ends!
I am with you on being a lifer, though.

myself to become blindly loyal to an entity that is content to stay mired in dogshit.
I, along with countless others, won't tolerate it. Leaders and Best rings very hollow right now. If this continues, then Louis Elbel ought to be reanimated to write a more fitting fight song.
Everything about Michigan football sucks right now. Period.

season tickets.
I know he's not staying, but I'm not sending in my PSD until a new, and highly qualified coach is hired though.
December 1st, 2014 at 1:24 PM ^
form until a new coach is named. I wish I could say that I will not renew, but I love, love, love my seats. Stubhub is a drug that looks very appealing after this year.
December 1st, 2014 at 1:30 PM ^
The PSD deadline is January 31. At the rate Michigan drags its ass on coaching changes, you might have a decision to make on that day. (Me too, fyi.)
December 1st, 2014 at 3:54 PM ^
Same here. Currently hold 4 tickets, but will not send in PSD $$$ until situation is resolved. If he stays, I will not renew.

I'll still pull for the team and be a fan. I'll watch the games.
But I think he's not likely to be retained, and I think letting him go is 100% the right decision. (Or 99.something% the right decision.)
December 1st, 2014 at 1:34 PM ^
I'll still watch, but if we don't get a proven OL coach, I'm done.
EDIT: I don't give a rats ass about points, but the downvotes with no argument or reason for disagreeing is pointless. If you don't like my reason, tell me why. Don't be an ass and hide behind a downvote. Somebody PLEASE tell me why you'd not want to see them address their #1 deficiency in the OL and then still be justified watching this sub-standard product?

since this wasn't actually aimed at me, but I'm going with they're friends or family with Funk.
