I’m staying positive

I hope this loss and this feeling stays with all the underclassmen (read: most of the starters). I bet it will, and the team will grow from it greatly. This is still a great program to be a fan of, and the future is bright. Neg away.

On that positive note - this loss hurts a lot more to us fans than it does to the team. If the team wins out, they will undoubtedly go to the playoffs (with a win over a top 5 PSU team, top 10 OSU team and whoever comes out of the West.) This loss will continue to suck for a year or more, but does little to chang the possibilities of the season other than to smack us fans with a dose of reality.

In what other way is one supposed to interpret your statement about what would happen if they win out? Are you simply raising a hypothetical argument? Fine. Here’s mine: If I win the Oscar for Best Actor this year, I probably have a shot a banging Alison Brie.

I think 'possibilities for the season haven't been drastically changed' is where you are wrong here.  Being competitive against the top teams in the Big Ten looked easily attainable yesterday.  After tonight I can't see it happening.

How many times do we have to lose to fucking MSU before it "sticks with us"?!!!!! I'm fucking done with all this. Next year will roll around and everyone will say "Sparty sucks, we win 45-10, we are motivated now" or some bullshit like that. Whatever.

We are so young and the bounces are going the other way. Lots of football left. Time to get a dry day.. non moonsoon and get our stuff together. It's there. Ours for the taking. F Sparty. We have bigger teams to knock out. This will click! Go Blue.

It's not even about that man. I still love this team, but in the beginning of every season, I think it's almost a guarantee that we should predict a couple of losses. The whole "this season is the season" is a false narrative. We just can never catch any breaks. Great teams find a way and we never seem to...

Each of the last three National Champions have lost at home early in the season and rallied around it. I hope that this game reveals at last to Harbaugh that something big needs to change in the offense braintrust. If so, we can recover. If not, we Hoke now. I don't think he wants to be Hoke.

We lost to a talent depleted and very young spartan team at home. This is a horrible blow to the program. Say it as it is stop sugar coating it with bullshit

I didn’t expect this team to run the table. I expected 10-2 honestly but u can’t lose to MSU at a time when ur trying to build stability and convincing players to come to Michigan while MSU is losing recruits and is limited with talent and seniority. Harbaugh is a good coach that’s it not great just good and this is hard to swallow for some

We look a lot more like John L’s “Sparty, No!” teams right now (and we have for a decade) than we do a true B1G contender. Ask yourself: would you, in your WILDEST imagination, have believed that Field Goal Franklin would have won the B1G before Harbaugh?

Fercrissakes. John L would have lost a game like this 45-14. He won 5, 5, and 4 games in his last three of his four years. Come down from the ledge.

This is a 5 loss team this year - bank it.

MSU, PSU, UW, OSU and whatever bowl.

Harbaugh is no Bo. Granted better than the last two, but I would rather have the Bo or Carr any day.

It is only year 3 .... personally I thought it would take 4 or 5 yrs to really turn this around.

JH came in and made us competative right away.  The offense is crap and has been for awhile ... the season isn't over but year 4 and 5 we finally see JH's QBs he went after and maybe we will see a change at OC and maybe ONE coach coaching the O'line  ..... The season is not lost ... I think we only lose 3 games this year again.  Sometimes games just suck and this was one of those times.

The offense is maybe barely average but our D is awesome and will continue to be as long as Don is here.  If we can even get  to a solid average to above average offense .. poof .. we win.  Period!

Pointing to next year has to stop being the mantra but, given that UM really doesn't have a QB, there's really nothing else that can be said.

Some are questioning Harbaugh's ability to build good to great QBs but he's not a miracle worker. Speight and O'Korn are GREAT kids but they are what they are: backups at best. They've both hit their ceilings...

But let's be honest. Most of these players already had heartbreaking losses to Iowa and OSU last year (even if they were watching from the bench). Heartbreaking losses do do nothing except break your heart.

Please start peters that’s the only way anyone will have faith in this team going forward. Our qbs are combined 4 tds and 6 ints. Peters CANT DO WORSE

Do you really put this on the QBs?  It's on Drevno man.  His schemes are too complex for the talent we have.  Putting Peters in will only reaffirm what has already been made evident watching two very experienced QBs flounder about.
