I'm Starting a NIL Marketing Agency!
Based on the new college rules that enable the payment to athletes based on name, image, and likeness, I have purchased "HireACollegeAthlete.com" . . . with the purpose of creating an agency that matches college talent with local, regional, and national brands. Site isn't up but we may have something in a few weeks. We will engage both sides, brands and players and put together marketing and deals that make sense. At some point, there will be rational deals as most sponsors will want to see some sort of an impact on their business. We will be there. I already have a marketing agency . . . so, think of this a brand extension.
If you want to be a part of this and you have an idea or a skill, message me. Let see how we can work it together.
How do you message people on mgoblog?
I would suggest the op create an email address to field such messages from the blog and prevent interested people from having to post their own address on the site.
It’s easy…post a bunch of vitriolic, politically motivated personal attacks, get sent to Bolivia and once there meet up at a local cafe for a discussion
I hear there’s some very good coffee in Bolivia at various cafes.
Do a whois on the domain the OP registered and get their contact info there?!
Good idea. Good luck.
Or, an idea that luck won't fix. The main return that bag men care about is procuring an athlete for their school. That is the ROI. The rest of the (monkey) business arrangements are just charades/window dressings for that.
Corporations that offer lucrative sponsorship/NIL deals already have relationships/mechanisms for procuring recognizable talent of the magnitude they seek. They're the same, long-established ones that have been used with pro athletes for decades, over centuries.
A main curiosity for the issue is when will NIL deals be offered to middle school and high school kids? They are already recruited at young ages by colleges. NIL benefits could be extended to them and their familes. How far will the bag men / "sponsors" reach?
mabeaton: ". . there will be rational deals as most sponsors will want to see some sort of an impact on their business. ."
Currently you have a website that does not work and you have a request that people message you without providing a mechanism to send you a message. I know this is rough, but your business is not off to an auspicious start.
Hopefully you will have great success once you get the site up and going.
The site is working, it's run by HUEL
The site is working, it's run by HUEL
That's an oxymoron there, Brutus. Remember, it only took several years to get a function most-of-the-time points system and the various rendering issues will get sorted out one of these decades.
I'll bring tea!
Woohoo! I’ll bring the crumpets!
If he gets it running, lock it down with ransom ware.
I'm not drinking anything you're handing out. No offense.
Only political rivals need worry.
This is one step away from prostitution.
I love it, sign me the heck up
I’ll be your “Manager” like T.J. Hicks was for Deuce Bigalow.?
Message me at info @ hireacollegeathlete.com . . . For the naysayers, go ahead and laugh. We can get a lot of things going pretty quickly. The deal structures and use cases are going to be written over the next year.
I don’t think anyone has been a naysayer at this point. Just pointed out you linked a website that isn’t up and asked people to contact you without any contact info being provided.
Sounds like a cool idea and hopefully it works out for you, but you aren’t giving people a lot to go on here as you ask for interested parties.
Nothing against you but this will be a tough thing to get into it, Jared wrangler has done this and has 80 Michigan football players already. Hard to compete with people who have inside contacts
Jared Wrangler lol
Maybe he’s partnered with Jeep.
His name sets up perfectly for a Jeep Wrangler ad.
"I'm a Wangler, and I drive a Wrangler"
Not gonna lie, Long day on the boat yesterday lol
I will hold the bags, you guys start filling them up with cash...
Can you just wait until Michigan gets a real coaching staff that can actually get the most out of this talent?
I'm starting a fraternity...You're my boy Blue!
Are the KPIs just views, likes, subscriptions, etc or something else? I’m interested in the predictive analytics around which players are likely to provide the greatest ROI (which is more a growth metric than volume metric but still). I fear anything else gets commoditized….
Those are the early KPIs, but for this to be successful, there is going to have to be real revenue turning KPIs that will have to be tracked. It will be like early social media but it will quickly goto those deals that can improve business. This year, though, it will be all about halo impact of sponsoring an individual or a group of individuals. The issue is that there will be athletes that don't realize the responsibility that comes with this . . . there will be real work expected, real hand shook at event, and real amounts of professional level endorsement work.

Will you siphon "profits" for donations to THE ohio st university?
Go Blue.
I'm looking forward to hundreds of these types of things popping up
Shameless self-promotion alert!
As someone who works in marketing, I'm very skeptical. NOBODY I know in marketing would ever waste a launch event. They most definitely would not have tried a soft launch without some type of website. (Which is easily the single most important marketing opportunity you will ever have). Best of luck on your brand extension and thank you for sharing.
I'm not a wasting a launch event, simply sharing the birth of idea with a group of like-minded individuals.
Well, then I'll apologize for assuming, give you a thumbs up, and tell you how much I enjoy the enthusiasm. Look forward to seeing how this unfolds as you iron out all the details. It's not a bad idea.
I should have started mgoblog.com when I first had the idea ?
Serendipity
I was listening to Ryen Rusillos NIL podcast a couple weeks ago and he had a lady that was already running one of these operations full bore. So my question is, what are you guys offering that others aren't?
Obvious answer is obvious. Shmears of cream cheese.
Company softball picnic?
Casual Fridays.
Hot babes!
They can smoke and drink in the office, a la Mad Men.
I already have a marketing agency that i've taken from $0 - to 500K in revenue in 8 months, with a goal of being in a 7 figure marketing agency by the end of the year. Only 1/2% of all marketing agencies eclipse the 1,000,000 revenue mark. So, my group is already unique. We do fractional CMO work, bringing strategy and operations and marketing technology to bear for our clients. So, what we offer is bringing a real marketing program perspective for businesses. It's not about the athletes being paid . . . it's going to be about putting deals together that actually work for the businesses. You can view our main offering here . . . index (hyperflywheel.com)
Are you personally the CMO that delivers on the fractions, or is your company a group of marketers, and what is your target company/client profile?
EDIT: Never mind I looked at your site.
Athletes and celebrities are getting paid in bitcoin. Saquon Barkley taking his endorsements in bitcoin now (10 mil usd a year) and Tom Brady laser eyed on Twitter are just two of many examples. This should be an option for the athletes.
Get to work on next year recruiting class. I'm expecting you to lure in a lot of 5 stars. Round up those money cannons. May be you should offer digital currency, like bit coin to these players, after you get your sponsors. What type of cut are you looking for, like 10 to 20 percent?
We will get a cut from the players, but we will get a much larger cut from brands looking for strategy, campaign creation, execution and tracking. That's where the business model is, at least from, my perspective.
