Is Hudson hurt?

I didn't read through every thread so I don't know if this was mentioned, but I was wondering in Stueber passed Hudson on the depth chart or if he is dealing with something. Also, I saw Black out there for 2 snaps, but didn't notice if he played any more. Anyway, great win, and Go Blue!

Stueber is massive and probably ahead of Hudson in run-blocking, which is basically all we were interested in doing at that point in the game.

Re: Black, we definitely were not going to play him on a muddy field.

I know you're part of the medical staff. You're the only one on this blog that has trustworthy information when it comes to injuries. Thanks for that.

(Though he's not here much anymore, Magnus also has good information. Didn't want to leave him out of the mention.)

I am not sure it matters much at this point.  We know who the starters are and we also know that Hudson had a long way to go on the O-Line.  Personally I was happy to see Steuber out there as it means we have more bullets at tackle than just Mayfield and Hudson.

I saw Nate Schoenle made the travel team as well but did not see him play.  Save for Gary, Luigi Vilain, and Brad Robbins, this squad is nearly back to 100%.  Hope Gary is back for Ped State.

Maybe Stueber has just passed Hudson.  Stueber has an extra year in the program and is not a position-switch like Hudson.  And Stueber was hurt in fall camp but has had time to get healthy.

Honestly, if Stueber is better than Hudson, I wouldn’t mind seeing Hudson at DT next year, at least as a 2-way player.  We’re going to have Runyan and Mayfield competing for LT, plus whoever else emerges.

Yeah, but I think Hudson has a lot of talent and I want to see him on the field.  You only play two OTs.  If  we have three good OTs between Runyan, Stueber, and Mayfield next season—plus developmental guys behind them—then I think it’s worth the risk.

Besides, our depth at DT is not that great.  We lose Mone and Marshall after this year, and could lose Solomon after next year.  Kemp and Dwumfour are looking good, but Jeter is still a work in progress and right now we’re probably counting on Mazi Smith to contribute as a freshman.  That’s pretty good depth, but as we saw last week a couple poorly-timed injuries or targeting suspensions can cut into it  quickly.  If Hudson is only the #4 OT then I would move him back to DT in a heartbeat; if he’s #3 I think I still would, especially if the #4 guy isn’t far behind.

I disagree here, we lose Mone and Marshall this year. We will have Soloman, Jeter @NT.. Kemp and Dwumfour at 3T...and no other scholarship players. That seems way too thin to me, a couple injuries and we are playing walkons.

The thing is Hudson has lost 2 year of development if he switches back so I don't think it would be a great Idea, we just need to recruit some more DT's

Why do these titles need to be edited?

I don't think there's any way to have perfect titles.

I get the impression there's unhappy people commenting here that expect their source of happiness to be here. And they aren't finding it. So they think if titles were changed they'd get happiness.

They need to get out and get some air, enjoy the day, have some fun.

One other factor that I haven't seen mentioned yet.  Hudson's barrier to being a starter was consistency, he could be great most of the time but then make a big mistake.  In a tight game like that, the coaches don't want the risk of a totally blown assignment that gets a free rusher at the QB or stuffs a run behind the line.
