Bias aside, 11W writes some really good stuff, specifically anything by Ramzy.  Stay away from the comments though because you already know what's going to be there

Tons of analysis and the reception amounted to "hurr hurr".

There were a few attempts to be thoughtful, at least.  One guy helpfully suggested that Meyer should exploit Brown's tendency to blitz one side in 11W write-ups.

I loved reading the comments. Last year's game was such a red herring for those fans who are experiencing a severe case of Mandela effect, and clearly believe that they "dominated" us in The Game last year.

My favorite comment is the one that says "it doesn't matter, we still scored 31 points on their defense." Actually you didn't, because one touchdown was by their defense, another started from inside the redzone, and the other two were in overtime.

Even with the turnovers, if we generate just one, maybe two first downs in the fourth quarter, that game is over.

I will be the first to admit that's an excuse. The offense shit the bed in the fourth quarter, and we handed them the game. OSU made less mistakes. But I'm also not saying anything that isn't true. Even with our offense playing anywhere from meh to blegh in the second half, Brown had OSU dead to rights. Barrett was getting sacked every other play, and the supposed vaunted duo of Samuel/Weber were bottled up anytime they even touched the ball.

Brown showed what he can do with one year of being on staff. When Harbaugh gets the offense to where it needs to be (especially the OL), this team will be lethal.

"Brown had OSU dead to rights. Barrett was getting sacked every other play, and the supposed vaunted duo of Samuel/Weber were bottled up anytime they even touched the ball. "

This was absolutely true for 3 quarters.  But the fourth quarter and both OTs were a different story.  Urban eventually figured out where they could exploit us and the game turned hard.

Sort of. They hit some plays, but some of that was just incredible individual effort—like the busted play in OT when Samuel got them out of 3rd and long. From a coaching standpoint, you couldn't have defended that play one iota better.

At least on 11W, the comments so far on this article are actually pretty amusing, a mix of some more thoughtful takes and honest questions as well as the odd criticism of the Buckeyes, to what you mentioned as well as use of "TTUN", which is one of those Woody-isms that you would think they'd be beyond now, but whatever, I guess.

If that isn't a sign of how immature their fanbase is I don't know what is. I've brought it up before, but if anyone were to deploy name-calling on the mgoboard such as "Urban Crier" or even O$U in normal commentary they'd get negged and ridiculed. On 11 Warriors, which is supposedly the best OSU blog out there and certainly most popular, that's common, everyday dialogue, and those comments are usually upvoted more than any other post.

and i'm not trying to be snarky.  my reference to negbombs was the recent rash of them you took last week.   but also, even here you are 'negging' brutus and me, and at the same time you are upvoting yourself.   i echo what pastor said to you last week, 'you can be better than that'.   try.   you just might surprise yourself.

Had a terrible dream last night that Michigan lost to Ohio State in the worst way possible and then I woke up and realized it pretty much happened last November.

Had to read the comments I guess just to piss me off. Michigan will always have a great defense under Brown, but I will guarantee you that Jim Harbaugh will never ever ever ever be shut out by anyone. 31-0 is what happens without the refs help. Fuck osu. We have to beat osu. Period!!.

The cognitive dissonance over there is so strong. One commenter posted that it didn't matter how good Brown's defense was because they won the most important game of the season. I guess that explains the CFP game.

It was a very good article. Very high level of depth, explanation of what Brown is doing. Honestly, some of the football coaching minds over at mgoblog need to dissect and expand on this defensive analysis.

There are a huge number of OSU homers over at the site. But then, the same thing exists here. I get tired of the TTUN idiots over there, but we have plenty of our own. I definitely have OSU in a different category than MSU.

In general, I think 11W is a better run site than my favorite site on the internet mgoblog.com There is just more content and the fanbase is into it.  I guess it helps to have the type of success they have had.

Still, I hate fOSU with a passion and whenever I go there I hate them even more.  I try to stay away from 11W as much as I can.

I'd like to read a similar write-up on Brent Venables. How was Clemson's defense (#15) so effective? (Although it might not matter this season because I think Kevin Wilson would've at least scored, especially since he's familiar with Brent from their time together at Oklahoma.)

This is a great question.  I want to say that having a lot of 5 star athletes with experience made the difference, but fOSU has a lot of 5 star talent on offense as well.

How would this years clemso do against last years fOSU team?
