How close are we to a NC in football?

Projected 2022 starters on Michigan offense.....how many would start or be in rotation for Georgia or Alabama? All opinions welcome.

While we are here, anyone want to tell me what happened to WD? I took about a 9 month absence from following sports as closely during lockdown (not even fantasy sports)  and stopped using this site, and I never heard what the heck happened there.

He kept getting into pissing contests with posters, was just a general jerk to anybody who disagreed with him, as well as bringing in politics to random threads (Spring/Summer 2020)

Ace banned him for calling Lebron fans "Bronsexuals", which I'll admit is fairly tame, but after he got banned WD sent a bunch of hate messages to the mgostaff on twitter/email.

So he probably could've signed up again (like some other banned people have), if he wanted to, but at this point, no WD is his choice

Next year's team holds the potential this year's team held-actually/likely slightly better.

This year's two Alabama vs Georgia contests demonstrates the variability within this game.

Michigan is very close-we need the variability to fall in our favor.

Thank you for welcoming my opinion. You are such an inclusive and engaging OP.  It is so kind of you to include us all in your brainstorming. This is such a different approach from the normal idiotic posts and hostility we see on MGOBLOG.

We are fine on offense and Special Teams specialists; we can compete at a high level with the people we have and those on the way.

However, we are woefully inadequate on Defense, particularly DL, LB and CB.  So I'd say we need 2 elite DT's, 2 elite LB's and 1 or 2 elite DB's to complement current players and the incoming '22 class.

UM may have won the award for best O-line this season, but that was due mainly to UM facing D-lines that ended up being weaker than anyone thought they would be at the beginning of the season.

To win the NC in the next few years two things have to happen:

1) The O-line has to be even better than it was this season.

2) McCarthy has to learn to avoid mistakes.  McNamara is a decent QB, but UM needs more than a decent QB to win the NC.

Get both of those, and UM will play in the NC game at least twice while McCarthy remains at UM.

It's 640 miles from the U of M campus to the North Carolina campus. But that's thru Ohio, which I would avoid at all cost. Being the case, flying would be my only realistic option.

For a beaver, I actually don't give a dam how you get there, since you obviously can't or didn't read the board before posting.
