good for Hoke, hopefully the momentum keeps building.

Urban Meyer has, MAC, MWC, and SEC.
November 30th, 2011 at 2:39 PM ^
I was going to guess Meyer too, but amazingly, he never won the SEC Coach of the year.
November 30th, 2011 at 2:38 PM ^
I was going to say Urban Meyer, but he never actually won coach of the year in the SEC. If Urban Meyer wins Coach of the Year at some point in the B1G, then he will have received coach of the year awards from the same conferences as Brady Hoke.
November 30th, 2011 at 2:39 PM ^
Wow, I'm actually somewhat shocked he never won an SEC COY award
November 30th, 2011 at 3:20 PM ^
down there. Maybe being from Ohio he didn't have Southern values, and thus was a bad cultural fit across the SEC ....

Let's just hope Hoke doesn't want to make it 4
November 30th, 2011 at 2:43 PM ^
Are you kidding? He's going to die here. This is Michigan, fergodsakes.
November 30th, 2011 at 2:56 PM ^
Fergodsakes? Hoke is God. God is Hoke. Michigan is Heaven. Heaven is Michigan. Really deep, really hard to grasp it all, but I try, Lord knows I try. Hoke knows I try.

It was either Molk or Van Bergen during the press conference when asked about Hoke they said "We are Hoke". I'm enjoying the new monistic views of our football program.

Must be those jersey sales in Ohio.

Congrats to the HC!
November 30th, 2011 at 2:45 PM ^
I think this speaks to the caliber of coach that he is personally, and to think he's ours now and that he wanted to be here all along....*sits back, imagining seasons and classes to come*
November 30th, 2011 at 2:45 PM ^
conferences but dennis erickson has a lot of hardware like that
November 30th, 2011 at 2:53 PM ^
Spurrier has some serious conference coach of the year hardware: 7x SEC, 2x ACC
November 30th, 2011 at 3:29 PM ^
going for the number of conferences, rather than total, but yeah, spurrier dominated at florida.
November 30th, 2011 at 2:49 PM ^
In 2007 Ron Zook was named coach of the year. Football was just fucked up and bullshit that year.
November 30th, 2011 at 2:54 PM ^
2007 was the effing worst.
November 30th, 2011 at 2:57 PM ^
and correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't Hoke now gotten all three of his teams into the national top 20 rankings ?
Ball State
San Diego State
Michigan
truly......TREMENDOUS.
now... all you Dave Brandon haters, can apologize now.
November 30th, 2011 at 3:04 PM ^
We hate Dave Brandon for much more than his coach selection. Also, just because Hoke has proven a good choice (and he has), that does not make all of Brandon's ideas gems.
November 30th, 2011 at 4:56 PM ^
the OP was referring to that specific decision.
November 30th, 2011 at 2:58 PM ^
Over just 4 years that is pretty impressive.
Coach Hoke has proven to be an excellent choice for Michigan.

John Belein~
oh ya!

MAC Coach of the Year - 1986
2x Big 8 Coach of the Year - 1991, 1995
Big Ten Coach of the Year - 1999
In retrospect, this guy has done an amazing job at the places he has been and should have sniffed another job by now.
November 30th, 2011 at 3:18 PM ^
ACC Coach of the Year - 1979
2x Big Ten Coach of the Year - 1988, 1989
SWC Coach of the Year - 1995
November 30th, 2011 at 5:48 PM ^
On that note:
Congrats to Ron English: MAC coach of the year

I'm surprised they didn't just award it to Meyer for this year. With the ridiculous level of hype he is getting you would think that nobody else is going to win a game for the next decade. He coached Tebow too ya know...
