That must mean he wasn't good enough for MSU. They go after nothing but elite recruits. As recruiting rankings matter to them now.

Either we see Honigford moving inside or we really don't want to wait for/don't feel confident in Zay Wilson, TJ Slaton, or Toryque Bateman.

But by all accounts Honigford can play. Great to have him in the fold.

Ah, I always confuse Slaton's position with his teammate, Kai-Leon Herbert's. Good call. They could probably both play inside though.

Yeah Wilson is one of the dudes you save a spot for, even if he's not a plug-and-play guy. Potential is super duper. Do get the vibe we have fallen behind Bama here, however.

Did you learn nothing from last year? This coaching staff will take a commitment from anyone they think can play for them, and if someone better comes along (like Wilson) they will move on and take the better player. I'm not saying that as a criticism, as I believe this is a good strategy. But just because they're taking a commitment from a guy doesn't mean they have given up on someone else.

That strategy does not supercede positional needs or constraints. We have not taken commitments from WR's that we thought very highly of, both this year and last, due to positional numbers (Z vs. Slot, WR vs. Other positions).

Obviously this staff values versatility, especially on each line, a la Mason Cole and Chris Wormley (and probably soon enough, Gary). Of course we will still take Wilson no matter what, I just think it shows that they think Honigford, or Hall, or a future commit could flex inside.

with Hall, Steuber, and Honigford in the fold, that'll leave room for about 3 more. In good shape with Wilson, Slaton, Herbert, and Ruiz. If we can land 2 or 3 of those 4, that'd be a heck of a nice OL haul

That came out of nowhere.  Looks to be a nice pickup with an impressive offer list.  We need a big O-line class so this makes a lot of sense.  I trust the coaches have an eye for talent.  It is even sweeter stealing a guy from MSU.

Two things are about to happen: 1) He will be bumped up to 4* 2) MSU fans will claim that they didn't really want him, and they can do just fine with 2* OL

We might as well wait, I suppose. I actually didn't cave him or even send him to Bolivia. It occurs to me that we really do need an account or two which simply are left untouched and in a state where they can naturally self-destruct without mod intervention. A site like MGoBlog needs someone who is basically the site's cautionary tale. That dude might serve that purpose - time will tell.

It wasn't Bolivia-worthy to begin with in my opinion. I understand the need to keep it clean on here but it seems like too much of an echo chamber sometimes. I thought the guy just had a different opinion than most and did not really see him disparaging the recruit in any way.
