Hello: Alex Daar - New U-M baseball coach Erik Bakich's first recruit
Short article in DetNews (LINK) this weekend, missed earlier, announcing Daar's acceptance of UM scholarship. Daar from Grosse Pointe Woods Ligget was Michigan 2012 co-Mr. Baseball Award winner; has good control and seems to know how to pitch, but lacks overpowering stuff. Should be good solid 4yr starter, hopefully like Jonah Nickerson was during Oregon State's NCAA runs.

Great to see another Liggett award winner choose the Wolverines. Daar follows Madison Ristovski, who was named Michigan's Miss Basketball for 2012 and is a member of the 2012 women's basketball recruiting class.
While the class competition wasn't great, if the Liggett coach hasn't changed his scheduling philosophy from when I was there('08 grad), then he did see some higher competition during the non-conference portion. Probably doesn't project to a huge immediate impact guy, but hopefully turns into a solid contributor.
As a fellow University Liggett grad, I'm glad to see my school produce another Wolverine athlete. Best of luck to you Mr. Daar.
Wow... This is one of my closest friend's brother. I remember when he was back in high school rocking the state backpack and I would give him shit everyday. Two years later his older brother attends Michigan and now look who is following his footsteps. I'm gonna give him a call later with a congratulations.
