^^^This. Even with Harbaugh not on the sideline, we still have the coaching advantage.

Harbaugh is on a head set back at the hotel....loop hole

If she didn’t find harm sufficient to grant a TRO there is no way she is granting an injunction. This whole thing is SO FUBAR
November 11th, 2023 at 11:54 AM ^
Yep. I have very little faith in her. Unless, she just didn't deny it but just want to get to hearing as she couldn't make up her mind. I haven't seen anyone say she denied it because there is no merit.

Gee this bodes well for Burgergate and self imposing three games. I am sure these fair minded governing bodies will demonstrate the fairness their students have come to expect when penalties are administered.

Every Michigan “insider” was completely wrong … I canceled all my subscription

TRO’s are always a long shot. I’d venture we don’t fare well on Friday either. We have exceptional lawyers. They have exceptional lawyers. Judges usually prefer not to have to take action. Today is a great example of that.
November 11th, 2023 at 11:31 AM ^
I mean, even if we get a ruling in our favor, given how this went down, would it even happen on the same day? We have another game next Saturday as well.
I think people are looking ahead to Ohio State but if it's the 20th and we still don't have a ruling and Michigan's sitting on 5-0 on the season without Harbaugh, that kind of does it for the "irreparable harm" argument.

"Rogue newly hired staffer Petitti scuttles entire BigTen conference by breaking loosely defined rules. He resigns and the NCAA gives itself a show cause since it should have known what its members were doing!"
November 11th, 2023 at 11:25 AM ^
Sounds like the TRO was denied. I've obtained several TROs (not in Michigan) and the judge generally schedules the preliminary injunction hearing only after granting or denying the ex parte (one party) TRO request.

So the judge denied the emergency TRO request and set a hearing on a permanent TRO? I don’t get it. I moved for several emergency TROs in my old life and and they’d get granted ex parte (without a hearing or reply from opposing counsel). What the hell was the point of an emergency motion if she didn’t rule on the motion and set a hearing?
November 11th, 2023 at 11:54 AM ^
Sounds like she rejected the TRO. I doubt she rules in our favor at the trial!
November 11th, 2023 at 11:28 AM ^
Three things:
1: fuck the Big Ten. Byee!
2: not biased still means time to remove that judge. How could anyone not see this ploy filing so late and how can anyone see Harbaugh as an offender or institution here subject to the sportsmanship clause? This is a personal vendetta. The big ten's merits suggest you could suspend the receptionist or some valuable player or players of any team or equipment managers and call that punishing the university or institution and not those individuals. That is so clearly an insane and unjust argument. Not a merited punishment. Fuck her. This judge gotta go.
3: finally, I'm kinda glad this has happened. When Janklin and Day lose now this will all only backfire harder on them - as deserved. And, this is the mettle test this team needs to prep them for the Ship run. To win it all your confidence needs to be through the roof. So good, keep Harbs out three games now! See how confident this team gets! We gonna win it all. This is destiny now.

One issue for me is if having another team's signs is such a health hazard to the student athletes, why is it legal to do it at all? Other teams have Michigan's signs, but that’s ok. Michigan having a other teams' signs, it's the worst scandal ever!
It's legal to "steal" and use other teams' signals, but suddenly Michigan is endangering players?
November 11th, 2023 at 11:47 AM ^
I guess we can't expect any logic or consistency.
November 11th, 2023 at 11:35 AM ^
Just got word that Judge Connor, not Kuhnke, just “declined to grant” Michigan’s request for TRO. Thus, Harbaugh will not be on the sidelines today vs PSU.
The strangest month in CFB history continues.

That does not sound like a denial but rather want to know more. Don't know. Hopefully, someone clarifies.

Are we allowed to attend this meeting?
November 11th, 2023 at 11:46 AM ^
Given how this went, I am far less optimistic about a favorable ruling next Friday.
November 11th, 2023 at 11:48 AM ^
“We look forward to presenting our case next seek where we intend to demonstrate that the Big Ten has not acted fairly,” Kim Broekhuizen, spokeswoman for President Santa Ono’s office, said. “The Commissioner created this situation by issuing his indefensible position at the end of the day on Veteran’s Day, when the court is closed.”
November 11th, 2023 at 11:50 AM ^
I thought the TRO was suppose to be a simple signature from the judge and not a trial? Who knows the judge may take more time after Friday's trial to make a decision. I think we got the wrong judge!
November 11th, 2023 at 12:01 PM ^
We lost the TRO when it wasn't granted ex parte

I bet if this was OSU, a judge in OH would grant a TRO in a few seconds. It seems like everyone is against us.
November 11th, 2023 at 11:58 AM ^
Pityful petiit dick Tony timed this to get us. I can't wait for the B10 championship game when he hands the trophy over and the boos rain down on him for the nation to hear.
November 11th, 2023 at 12:05 PM ^
Feels like this is not something that portends well if the judge wants to hear it out.
November 11th, 2023 at 12:05 PM ^
Dumb question, but what would happen if we just ignored it and Harbaugh coached anyway?
Arrest? Does it invalidate the game? At this point, F@ck them all
November 11th, 2023 at 12:12 PM ^
If I was Harbaugh I’d consider a $100M or more lawsuit against the BIG and personally against Tony P and against .
November 11th, 2023 at 12:46 PM ^
This thing is so ugly. It seems like he will miss Penn State and Maryland - then the courts will act just in time to get him back for Ohio State.
