Heads up: Nike re-releasing Michigan Dunk Highs on 5/14

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

Apparently they did these back in the 80s. They're going to be re-released on May 14th. A little early bird special at your Michigan Nike gear.

They're fantastic imo. If I were rich, I'd buy 3 pair just in case something happened to one.

Retailing for $120.

120 is too pricey for me.  I remember rocking the 30 dollar hakeem the dream etonics back in the day, and i could do the same stuff in them that I could do in overpriced Jordans.  Plus a lot of these shoes don't even look that good.  I bought a pair of air forces from eastbay a couple years ago for  60 bucks because they were last years model.  The new model looked exactly the same but were selling for 165.  I can't justify spending over a hundred on shoes.

What does being cheap have anything to do with it.  These $100+ shoes don't even look that good, they don't give you any added advantage on the court.  Like I said in another post, I bought a really cool looking pair of air forces for 60 from eastbay.  they were last years model but the same exact shoes with no difference except that they were new at the time, cost 165.  These shoes are so cheaply made too, I just can't justify spending that much, especially with an 8 year old at home.

An adult I worked with would spend all his money on shoes, the latest Jordan's, air forces etc.  He spent tons of money and his b-ball game still sucked.

Of the Jordan Retro 4's released in March. These were $230, trying to decide if I wanna wear them or just save them and see if I can get them signed by Jordan or the Fab 5

I have a problem with sneakers. I own upwards of 40 pair. A lot of "sneaker heads" own ten times that many. I am violently excited for these. These are a quick strike too so they produce much less than a normal release.

I know plenty of people like that.  Nothing wrong with it especially if you can afford it.  Personally, I am practical about shoes.  I own one pair of basketball shoes, a pair of indoor addidas' soccer shoes, a pair of cross trainers and a few pairs of dress shoes.  It is hard to justify spending a lot of money on shoes, due to the fact that I have an 8 year old who constantly outgrows his shoes and needs new ones, and I only use thes shoes for their intended purposes.   These shoes don't even look that good, they look like shoes from the 80's.

I had these in the 80's when they came out, never wore them, then about 15 years ago I heard they were hot in Japan.  Sold them on Ebay for $250 to some dude, couldn't believe it.

When I was in the 7th grade. Looked great but no cushion.  The first Nike Air shoes came out the following year and it was like night and day. Nike really changed everything in a very short period of time.

I'm too old to wear a high top but those look awesome.  Love seeing that maize! Hoping there is a low top Jordan brand that the coaching staff wears that they release.

Maybe I'm missing something, but these shoes are hideous. Normally Nike is at the cutting edge of technology, but this strikes me as though they are taking a few steps backward.

I remember thinking all shoes were all going to end up like this eventually. I even considered getting a pair. That is, until this one kid i knew was getting picked on about owning a pair. The kids picking on him were saying his shoes were uncircumcised and had a foreskin. Needless to say, I went with "circumcised" shoes. Good times haha.

I really don't care for these shoes. Just personal preference. I'm more of an air max and other sweet looking and tremendously comfortable Nikes. As opposed to the generic 1980's air force one look.

I only ever cared about one pair of shoes: Reebok Blacktops (in Bulls colors even though i wasn't a Bulls fan) circa 1991-'92. They were great but got overshadowed immediately when Pumps came out of nowhere and that become the thing. But those blacktops were the most comfortable pair of shoes I ever owned. Probably subconsciously put off my growth spurt to make sure I could wear them out.
