Harbaugh extension?

Decent raise and extension before someone scoops him up?

I can honestly see Harbs retiring after his contract is up.

He looks like he wants to but can’t because he believes he’ll be letting all his old football buddies down.

Well there’s a lot of people that except this mediocre product buying tickets and excepting Jim so nothing would surprise me.

Well, now the season is over. All the evidence is in. Long term projection? Doesn’t appear to be trending up in any significant way. Overall recruiting isn’t very good with major holes on the defensive side of the ball.

The offense looked no more competent in the final game of the season than it did at the beginning of the season. We now have four bowl losses in a row and four late season collapses in a row, and consistently fall apart in the second half of games against quality opponents. We also still don’t have a QB that could be reasonably rated at much of anything more than slightly above average. These are all issues that have persisted for the entire tenure of Harbaugh, and they don’t appear to be getting better.

At this point, I just don’t see what anyone could reasonably be expecting out of years 6, 7, or 8 other than a continuation of the same. This program has absolutely no momentum going for it right now as we end the season on another set of losses. Short term outlook isn’t looking terribly bright at the moment.

Campbell’s record at Iowa State: 3-9, 8-5, 8-5, and 7-6. Harbaugh needs to do better but in what world is that proving Campbell can win big at Michigan?

Tom Herman comes to mind as the next shiny thing who has yet to do much.

Harbaugh has won big everywhere he has been (San Diego, Stanford, San Francisco). Hiring Gattis was a big step in the right direction. Id rather work out the kinks than start over hoping someone else can be as good as Harbaugh has already proven to be.

At IOWA STATE!  He's revived one of the shittiest programs in the country and made them a tough opponent for everyone. He's competitive in every game other than the poor bowl showing this season.  I get Harbaugh's history but the future is also of importance and it's clear Harbaugh is not keeping things fresh.  In all actuality I'm not truly saying I want Harbaugh gone but man things just don't seem to be trending great for this program.  I think he's a good coach.  I do wonder how much he's into it anymore.   And so down the road, I want Campbell looked at closely for the next coach, which I do think occurs in the next 4-5 years.

(also, Campbell came from Toledo.  He knows the region and recruiting.)

Hell no, pay him 3 mill per year with a bonus of $200k per win and a $5 mill bonus if he beats Ohio state. Plain and simple. Sick of the malarkey

Agree that you have to double-down on Jim or move on now. Only two years left. No legit recruits/parents (sans total UM homers) are gonna commit to a dead-man-walking.

Surprised if this isn’t topic #1 on this site ‘til the AD makes a call. If UM moronically kicks the can on this, wow, forget it. I’ll focus on the Lions.

To the OPs question: Fuck No.  He needs to improve on his failures in the next year before any talk of raises or extensions.  No one is scooping him up, he wont leave and no o e will convince him to leave.

He must improve the defense (not getting blownout) and being competitive against OSU and in bowls without its or buts.
