Harbaugh Enjoying Michigan Fanbase's Enthusiasm

Funny anecdote from after the Baltimore satellite camp.

After Ravens OTA today, John Harbaugh said Jim tweeted photo from dinner last night. Jim said "Watch this!" as it got 30 RTs in 1 minute.

But Rich Rods issue wasn't the offense. The offense excelled (for the most part) with higher rates recruits. If was the defense that was his downfall. Not to mention, with only 3 seasons he wasn't really able to showcase what he could REALLY do with higher rated recruits. He was fired when DRob had two years left. I mean, can you imagine two more years of an up tempo spread offense with DRob? Granted, I'm glad RR was fired and we got Hoke, who won a BCS bowl game in his first year and built the foundation for Jim Harbaugh. All in all, it was worth it.

That 2010 was a mirage. They didn't start scoring until they were down 17 against MSU and Iowa and 24 against Wisconsin. Hell they only put up 7 on OSU. They were beaten up usually because of so many small guys. If you looked at the 2010 team and then last year's team in the huddle it was like night and day.

Oh no doubt. His issue wasn't offense though. It was still a good offense. The issue was, while he recruited more talented players, he didn't recruit size. So we were simply outmanned whenever we played a decent/good team. His offense wasn't a good fit for the Big Ten style of play. But it's clear, offense wasn't his issue, it was the defense.

22K+ points ... I'd expect better from you. From your post:

"They were beaten up usually because of so many small guys."

I'll bite. Who exactly were those small guys?

Also, who recruited them? The '10 team would have had players from these classes:

'06: Lloyd

'07: Lloyd

'08: Lloyd and RichRod

'09: RichRod

'10: RichRod

I think they lost because of extremely lousy defense and a QB who, amazing running ability aside, wasn't all that great in some QB areas (touch, etc.). Maybe it's just me.

to make sure he developed the 3 stars. I think you get everyones best around a once in a lifetime JH. That is what happened in SF, they really didn't want to keep up with him, now they are happy and losing.

the problem isn't the ratings of our DL, it's the numbers and experience. underclassmen starting on either line is never a recipe for success. we don't have a lot of young DTs so we really need them to come through. not a lot of margin for error.

Strangely, Harbaugh's photo of Baltimore with the Francis Scott Key Bridge in the foreground got fewer likes than FauxPelini's reply, but it is moments like that which underscore the value of FauxPelini's presence on the Internet.

As to the OP's point, watching Harbaugh simply have fun in a place and position that he considers "home" has been great so far.
