It should be a national holiday.
For the buckeyes it would be a completely different Day of Atonement:
"I'm sorry we sucked."
including the "Airing of Grievances"
Parade them through the streets of Columbus, GoT style:
Nym checks out.
Very well-played (your post and The Game)
This is awesome. I needed to smile today.
4/5/23 is national Schadenfreude Day!
I know the day is not over, but this feels like the clear leader for Winner of the Interwebs today.
Fetal boy will always be my favorite.
That's a great image. And... they were favored by 9?! Yeah, we have the benefit of hindsight now, but even at the time that was ridiculous. It's not like they had been so great all season that they were likely to beat us easily, which is what that line implies.
Even better than the planned Cooper holiday of 2-10-01!
One of my favorite parts of working at WTKA in the late 90s was cutting promos for the afternoon show with Doug Karsch. We made so much fun at Cooper's expense. We feel deliciously close to another era like that in the rivalry.
I started listening to WTKA in the mid-‘90s. There were some characters that called into the show those days. Crazy Jay comes to mind.
Conveniently BTN aired a replay of the game right after a rerun of the spring game last night so I got to re-live it in all its gloriousness.
Was like watching it right before Moody kicked the last extra point. Felt good man.
And so soon after celebrating 4-2 -- 2-7. What a glorious week!
For those wondering, I celebrated on 4/2 at 27 seconds past midnight. I drank some Gulo Gulo.
This dude time travels!
Fantastic callout. Perfect attention to detail - and, a reminder to all of us.
Go Blue!
It is the holiest of days.
In the name of the Harbaugh, and the Day, and the Donovan Edwards, Go Blue.
It’s my wedding anniversary today, what a gift! I’m sure my wife will be just as excited as I am.
Calls for a double celebration!
uh whoa and i'm the big 4-5 today too
...is it not enough that I needed Mgoblog to break all the other news in my life, from the Prince Fielder signing to the Notre Dame cathedral fire...but also my personal life
...peak mgoblogger there
Happy Birthday! That's a hat trick. 4-5 will always give you something extra to smile about.
My birthday is 1/6, which was pretty uneventful until a few years ago (except for the whole Feast of the Epiphany thing). My nephew's birthday is 9/11.
I want a job cutting the grass in Newton, Ohio. I will mow 14 lawns a day, six days a week, plus my own lawn on my day off. The lawns will all be on the same street. Somebody will think I have Italian heritage, and be convinced I'm with the Mafia. Some people might prefer a life that's WIDE OPEN, but I'd he happy as the Don going 85 yards straight through the heart of Ohio.
My dude....
after mowing lawns for 14 days, would you be STILL ON YOUR FEET?
Took a while to get to the last line but I see what you did there! Brilliant!
Brilliant. Just brilliant.
Donovan Edwards, down the sideline! Gets past Ransom! Donovan Edwards... Touchdown! Michigan!!!!
Well done, but man this is random AF and you probably have to be a very certain age to get this.
Yeah,it is age telling.
Imagining Ryan Day struggling through My Pet Goat is pretty funny.
2/3,2/10 and 4/5 all count as holidays.
My friend threw a helluva February 10th, 2001 party our senior year…. Before the dark times.
One little thing... A lot of people - and that may be a group that notes / possibly celebrates "Pi Day" - which is March 14th - 3.14. If you remember your geometry, or physics, "Pi" is a memorable symbol and figure.
This day - April 5th 2023 - puts an even bigger smile on my face.
Go Blue!
I just upvoted this to 42. Y'all lets upvote this three more times.
There, that's 45 upvotes. You deserve every one of them, Mr. Higgins
I regret that I have but one upvote to give this post. Nicely done!
We Jordan'd them: 45 - 23. MJs two numbers.
We observe a traditional celebration at home but enjoy meeting with friends for more contemporary festivities in public.
I've re-watched the game more than once. Each time the moment that gets me the most is the tipped-to-Upshaw interception when we can hear the crowd let out a collective "NOOOOOOO!", knowing they've lost. It's beautiful.
Similarly, that moment in 2021 is Haskin's final TD when OSU defenders have either completely given up or are intentionally letting him walk in so they can get the ball back. Either way, it's Victory.
The only way to spend the day.
I love this post and am wishing all of my M faithful and tOSU slackers the same!
Thank you!!!
I have not celebrated this in past, but it's now on the calendar!
