It appears that the NY Jets are inquiring with retired QB Chad Henne to see if he'd like to tote a clipboard on the sidelines in NY. Of course, with the way Zack Wilson plays, he may end up in a starter's role.

Meanwhile, others are imagining a different Michigan QB coming out of retirement:

I get that the Jets are desperate, but if I'm Henne, I'm not sure I have much incentive to come out of retirement.

I have all the money I'm ever going to need, I have two rings, and perhaps most importantly, I have my health. I don't have to worry about needing a walker or being in a wheelchair when I'm 65. Is the Jets OL all that good? Do I want to take chances and play on artificial turf that everyone absolutely hates?

Just me, but I'm not sure I want to come back.

This would be so freaking awesome. This is the first time in decades that there hasn't been a former Michigan quarterback in the NFL (unless I'm missing someone), so if Henne joins the Jets, the streak would continue until a year or two when Milton and JJ get there.

After all the woofing about how good the Jets were going to be this year, we needed less than one quarter of play to be reminded "J-E-T-S; chumps, chumps, chumps!"
