Guess the Score - BGSU Edition

45-7 Michigan wins

Michigan scores a whole lot. Bowling Green very little.

24–0 at half. 

Then instead of 1 scraped out TD vs 1 sad field goal, the backup tackles show why they should start, and we pave 4 rushing TDs for 49–3 (they still take a sad fg on the 3rd string D)

38-3. The running game will keep this team from covering until they get it figured out. That and the parade of backups in the second half.....

52 - 3. Offense is mostly more of the same with a few more explosive runs. The defense creates multiple turnovers and the back-ups don't look like a Mac team when they come in for the garbage time.

48-7 M.  I keep reducing my offensive expectations.  Maybe playing the Black Swamp people will help us drive up the score.

Michigan currently stands at -41 in the Bovada betting line with an over/under of 53.  Michigan has been about 10 points shy of covering the spread in its first two games.  BGSU is probably the worst of the three teams at this point in the schedule, but I still think this line is too large mainly because of the mutual respect factor -- 1) the BGSU head coach, Scott Loeffler, is a former Michigan QB and some assistants also come from the Michigan football program; 2) Jack Harbaugh played for BGSU.  Michigan has zero motivation to run the score up on BGSU.

This game will be like 35-0 at the end of three quarters and then the 2nd/3rd/4th string guys will do what they've done in the first two games and either play to a stalemate, get slightly outscored, or slightly outscore BGSU.

The house probably loves Michigan thus far with the underdogs covering and the unders.  This week will be more of the same, IMO.

My prediction:

BGSU 7

41-3.  Bowling Green will not win.

49-7 with 2 TDs by DE and OZ springs DE for one of those TDs.

Mich 38 - 6 BGSU

27 - 9. They put it in the garage early out of respect for Loeffler. 

M wins 48-6 with 6 TD+2FG. BGSU: 2FG. It should be 35-0 at halftime.

I like the 50/50 pass/run offense. JJ throws for near 300 yd, then backups 50 more while run for 250 yds. Could be more if Donovan busts out for 100 yds or more while Blake goes for 150 yds. The back up rush for at least 50 yds.

And we will all complain even more about why Henderson and Jones are not getting more playing time. We will continue to squirm over the running game.

38-7 UM. Falcons come "just short" of the upset but are still #1 in our hearts.

The most interesting game tomorrow could be WKU vs OSU. WKU can throw the ball and if OSU’s pass defense is as bad as they were last year, this game could be close. I’m not calling the upset, but it will be close enough that 11Warriors may implode.
