is how Dantonio basically had to put together a leadership team so that way Connor Cook wouldn't get as much flack. I dont care how many leaders you have, if your 3rd year starting QB that's also a senior isn't elected captain by his peers, something is wrong.

But do you think it may have to do with preferences suggested by this photo: brobible.com/sports/article/connor-cook-mike-sadler-prom-photo/ The NFL is pretty homophobic and it's the one thing that will get you blackballed. Captain can't have anything to do with it. Robert nkemdichi jumped out of a hotel high on bath salts four months ago and he went in the first round. He was a three year starter that only lost a handful of games and was by far a better qb than Hackenberg. My Spartan friend seems to think its media conspiracy and the NFL "going the way of the NFL" where potential is more important than demonstrated ability (lol)

Graham is a great/smart player who will help our DEAD LAST rushing game improve and give Stafford more time to throw. This is a great pick because we are getting better in the trenches where football games are won and lost. I can't remember the last time the Lions had a good offensive line and now it looks like we are putting the pieces together to get one.

Get a grip. We had one of, if not the worst, offensive line last year. Pass protection sucked and rushing was even worse. While there's more than one hole on this team, OL had to be a priority and Decker and Glasgow are two guys who can help, especially in the run game. Add on grabbing a DT who was luckily still available, and I have no idea what you're bitching about. I suppose just for the sake of hur-hur, it's the Lions, type bitching.

The players who improved under Schwartz  mysteriously could not block under Caldwell. Swanson was in his first season as a starter last year in a generally terrible scheme.

OT was a problem. Center more questionable.  Either way the Lions defense desperately needs help at DE, LB, and S. Right now the Lions don't have a starting OLB, an strongside DE, or SS.

C could never be a priority over that. Not for a well-managed team.

You can get solid centers in free agency.Plus, they just spent a 3rd on Swanson two years ago.

Meanwhile the defense continues to be neglected. Levy has so many years left and they don't have starters at safety, OLB, and DE.Oh and they need another WR as well.

I got to say this. I know what you mean by Defensive players can be take later rounds. But, we had no frigging running game. Have you seen pats in games. Their defense have not been world beaters. But their offense was really good. Lions need a good offense before they need a good defense. They need to run. Without that, Stafford is going to get killed. If Lions are going to win in playoffs, they need a balanced offense. I think Glasgow is an excellent choice. With a decent defense, they will give up yards, just like Pats, but will not give up a lot of points. We have a former Pat now running the show. So I am not surprised.

were winning Super Bowls. Plus, they can get away with a less-than-stellar defense because they have Brady. The Cowboys had a great OL and sucked ass.

Great OL play is far from a prerequisite to winning Super Bowls in the modern era. People obsessing over the OL forget that defenses are an essential part of winning championships. You can get by with an average OL. You can't with defense unless you have an HOFer at QB which the Lions decidely do not have.

I will not be surprised if they go full defense rest of the draft except for a WR. Although Lions need a WR, I for one happy that they didn't pick a WR yet. Two DL wouldn't have been a bad choice in the first three rounds. If they finally have a running game, I will be ok with what thru did. Time will tell. Soon.

I don't think you know what you're talking about. Quinn has come out publicly stating that Center was one of their worst positions last season and Swanson just isn't good enough for this team.

There is more than one way to aquire players. And defense is well below the offense in terms of fault here in Detroit. And you have to know that this team needs more than 1 draft to turn it around. Take what you can when you can, patch over the rest for the next year, and get the rest in years 2 and 3.
