Jim Delany's face is really punchable and having a reason to punch it right now feels right.

Well, this AND Colorado's defense couldn't tackle for shit. How many plays did they contact the runner behind the LOS and the UW RBs squirted free? And it wasn't like 1 or 2 yards. It was always 4 to 7 yards. Ridiculous. I have no idea what happened to Colorado's defense but they didn't play anything like the team they had been the second half of the season.
Maybe it was the interceptions that took the life out of the D. That was the most uninspired effort I've seen in a championship game in quite a while.

is Washington's OL. Give us that OL plus a defense that's 80% of what we had this year and we stomp everyone in this conference. Colorado is a bit soft against the run though.

Those people that believe the Big Ten champ would leapfrog Michigan underestimate voters' propensity to take the lazy approach.
Undefeated teams first, 1-loss teams second, and 2-loss teams third. Beyond that, if there is a head-to-head result, go with it.
It is substantially easier for the voters to justify ranking 2-loss Michigan ahead of the 2-loss Big Ten champion by virtue of the head-to-head result than it is to do the mental gymnastics of rationalizing why the Big Ten champion deserves it over Michigan.
The head-to-head result is a "cover your ass" variable for the voters to lean on. These guys don't want to go out on a limb.

won't get in. We screwed ourselves at Iowa and got screwed by refs at OSU.
It sucks, but sometimes the stars just don't align. OSU might have been the best team in the country last year but played uninspired most of the year, lost the wrong game, and ultimately missed the playoff.
Clemson won't lose. Football gods never favor us...we just need to start blowing everyone out and say fuck you to chance.

Clemson lost to Pitt. One could argue that Pitt is on par with Iowa. And a loss to VaTech on a neutral field is worse than a loss to OSU at the Shoe. Clemson was a chip shot FG away from losing to NC State at home. Michigan has the better resume. Michigan is in if Clemson loses. Screw the B1G champ and screw the B12. IMO, it's always been an either or scenario for Michigan w/r to UW and Clemson.

UM lost to Iowa on the road on a Saturday night game. Road games are a different animal in college football.

Clemson loses and they are OUT for sure. Clemson had many games that went to the wire and their opponent couldn't close it out (Missed FG for example)

I get the feeling that either the B1G champion will jump us, or if Oklahoma wins they'll sneak in, assuming Va Tech wins. If they let Michigan in, that's going to set the bar for future controversey. Everybody will always say "hey, remember that one time you guys let Michigan AND o$u in, and neither won their conference. As a matter of fact, neither won their division." I hate to say it, but we are out. Book your flights for the Rose/Orange.

Truthfully? Only for entertainment value. Not for any CFP impact on Michigan.

Earlier this week I made a deal with my Virginia Tech friend. I told him we would let Va Tech beat us in basketball, and he would guarantee a blow out of Clemson. He took the deal. We delivered on our part of the bargain, so we can safely assume Clemson is no longer an issue.

I think at this point our chances of getting in are really slim, even if the Hokies win tonight. Hope I'm wrong.

PULL FOR VTECH!! The committe knows Michigan is a top 4 team as we've seen by the rankings all year.
