  • We don't waste a second and that gives us a chance to get better.
  • What's different about Harbaugh? It's efficient.
  • We put in the concepts in the spring and now we're trying to master those concepts
  • Who are some of the dudes? Got a lot of dudes...guys that are fairly typical up front Wormley, Charlton,  Mone is from here to here (raises arms up high) , Glasgow, Gary will be in the mix. Gedeon has done a fantastic job about taking the group as his own, Furbush has a chance to be a real deal guy. Mike McCray is steady eddy. Uche is learning SAM better than expected. Hudson has a chance to help us this year. Long...really happy with him, he's a professional no books open being sharp.
  • And I can't think of anyone...ah jeez I gotta figure this guy out.
  • How much we have absorbed is primary pleasant surprise...phase I phase II phase III...we're at phase III

  • High risk high reward?? Hold, on..come on now (only point in interview where he was annoyed). Everyone of the calls we have made we have been through a thorough study...if you call it high risk by playing like this (gets close to camera)...we determine the call.

  • When it gets ready for you're mark get set go...have no question we will go.

  • Stribling playing good...really solid...solid guy...happy with him.

Felt like an opposing QB for a moment there.

Im a Philly Eagles fan and its been downhill since Johnson passed and he was also the kind of Coordinator that was all about making the offense react to the defense and not the other way around. Fantastic hire.

Interesting to note that Uche seems to be the heir apparent to Jabrill Peppers at SAM, not Khaleke Hudson. I like that development, Uche needs less time in the weight room to hit his playing weight than if he was pegged at WDE, and our secondary is going to need some talent after the mass exodus following this season.

in the "Pepper's SAM" position but as you noted we need secondary help for 2017.  In fact they are probably going to need Hudson to start opposite Kinnel at Safety next year.

I am excited for Uche - even if it is just for situational pass rushing until he gets the size and skill to be a full-time LB.

I think we'll be fine. We have Keith Washington, David Long, Lavert Hill and Stribling (did he rs?) vying for starting spots on the outside. Safety is pretty thin though, Kinnel, Watson (maybe he's still a CB), Hudson and Matellus. The '17 recruiting class will have to produce at least one corner and safety that is ready to play from day one though.

We'll be young! No doubt, Doc Brown will find some dudes though. Kinda paper thin in the secondary next year. But we'll be in the 2nd year of this Defense which will be a plus and although we lose a lot we potentially have; Peppers(not NFL ready), Mone, Gary, Hurst, Onwenu?, Winovich, McCray, Furbush, Bush, Uche and possibly a few surprises who've all seen significant playing time in front of the young secondary.

So far we have St-Juste and Woods at CB and S. With the potential for early playing time I don't have any doubt that this staff is gonna find some gamers who want to play here.

We're in a good position for:

JKP

Ambry Thomas

Maybe Darnay Holmes

We'll be young but good!

Even the way Coach Brown says he basically doesn't give a shit about the media or those interviews didn't seem to offend anyone. A very genuine, blue-collar, old school coach that knows his Xs and Os. We're lucky he's aboard.

In all honesty, I love hearing him explain that blitzing/being aggressive doesn't exactly mean it's a "high risk high reward" defense.  If you know exactly what to call in a specific situation, then how is it high risk??  I'd love to sit in on a defnesive meeting of his just once.

Great interview - entertainingly informative!  I love that he gets so into defending/explaining his philosophy that he calls out the "baloney" of his detractors!  This guy is awesome...
