UConn edition I meant to type.
Damn autocorrect
September 16th, 2022 at 7:41 AM ^
(use in Ahnold voice): "UConn be exciting!"
I am excited! Thanks, Arnold!
...and you mean auto incorrect.
September 16th, 2022 at 8:44 AM ^
I think autocorrect was your friend here. What isn't exciting about a UConn posbang?!?
September 16th, 2022 at 9:04 AM ^
I like the way you think...
September 16th, 2022 at 9:24 AM ^
I think the way you like
September 16th, 2022 at 7:12 AM ^
If this game is truly “exciting” that would not be a good sign.
September 16th, 2022 at 7:49 AM ^
If we put up 100 points... wouldn't you be at least a little excited?
September 16th, 2022 at 8:09 AM ^
70s would not surprise me, but I think Harbaugh would try to not go that far. This isn't Rutgers
September 16th, 2022 at 8:31 AM ^
I don't think we're going to get up that high. I suppose its possible, but my guess is the starters will be resting by the third quarter and you'll have backups and walk-ons in by that point, at which point UConn will probably be able to make a few stops and put a drive or two together of their own.
I said this in the pick the score thread from yesterday, but I believe Harbaugh would be more than happy to trade away a sexier score in order to grab as much playing time as possible for his younger guys. Especially on defense. I think he'd rather have a 42-17 game where he empties out the bench and gets everyone live snaps and real experience vs. a 72-10 bludgeoning where he leaves his starters in until late and the game and just tries to prove a point to the pollsters.
September 16th, 2022 at 9:05 AM ^
I don't know. Jim might still be holding some resentment from Warde and those testy 2020-2022 contract negotiations.
September 16th, 2022 at 10:14 AM ^
Eric, isn’t that like coming home and kicking the dog after a bad day at work?
September 16th, 2022 at 10:37 AM ^
XM. Agreed. I don't believe Harbaugh's aggression is at all passive. He is more blunt and to your face. It would be funny though if he were secretly angry so he sets some record against Warde's old team...
September 16th, 2022 at 11:33 AM ^
Watching Muhammad Ali beat the shit out of Chuck Wepner's face for 15 rounds was entertaining in a sadistic sort of way, but it wasn't exciting.
September 16th, 2022 at 12:05 PM ^
Tyson vs. Spinks was a good 90 seconds worth of exciting, as in, Would Iron Mike corner the terrified beast and put it out of it's misery in round 1? As it turned out, he did. Micheal Spinks was the most terrified boxer I've ever seen in the ring. I'm guessing that UConn is the same kind of mismatch.

Gotta admit, The Bayonne Bleeder has to be one of the top nicknames in sport though.
September 16th, 2022 at 9:06 AM ^
I am excited to watch JJ put up another clinic. His throwing motion and spin he puts on the ball in the air is hypnotic
September 16th, 2022 at 9:10 AM ^
Disagree. Watching JJ drop 50+ on them in the first half would be pretty exciting.
September 16th, 2022 at 9:31 AM ^
Sorry folks, three blowouts in a row against creampuffs are not my thing and don't do much to get you ready for what lies ahead in the B1G.
September 16th, 2022 at 10:58 AM ^
..west?
September 16th, 2022 at 7:13 AM ^
I got free tickets to the game from Vettix so I am taking my buddy with me since he took me to the Washington game last year. Go Blue!!
September 16th, 2022 at 9:27 AM ^
Thank you for prompting me to google Vet Tix. Didn’t know about it before. Great idea
September 16th, 2022 at 10:13 AM ^
Enjoy!

I live in CT and pretty psyched for this!
September 16th, 2022 at 9:13 AM ^
I'm visiting CT next weekend to do some sight-seeing. I hope that we administer a non-eventful beat-down this Saturday. I don't want to hear "well, we made it closer than we thought" from the locals.
September 16th, 2022 at 10:29 AM ^
Very few people in CT are like that about football. In fact Michigan is very popular here
September 16th, 2022 at 9:23 AM ^
The wife is a UConn alum…she says she is not claiming them this week.
September 16th, 2022 at 7:19 AM ^
No rain, kickoff at noon, my kind of game.
Go Blue!
September 16th, 2022 at 7:32 AM ^
I'll be driving through the state of Connecticut during game time - hoping for some shock and awe, and high praise for the Wolverines as I click through the radio dial.
And, oh yeah, I love me a Friday morning pre-Football Bang. Lemme have it.
September 16th, 2022 at 7:33 AM ^
UConn exiting - If only we could edit an OP.
September 16th, 2022 at 7:41 AM ^
Never. With edits we would never have undertaken ass.
September 16th, 2022 at 7:35 AM ^
Happy Friday, everyone!

Dog is pretending to be asleep. Smart dog.
September 16th, 2022 at 7:48 AM ^
Trevor Noah tonight in Hill, back in the Stadium early in the morning… a fine start to the weekend.
September 16th, 2022 at 7:48 AM ^
Go Huskies!
September 16th, 2022 at 8:49 AM ^
Had a husky when I was younger. I named her Teela after the character on He-Man.
September 16th, 2022 at 9:15 AM ^
I had one too. Pretty dog. Dumb as a box of rocks compared to the Doberman. Impossible to train not to chase animals.
September 16th, 2022 at 9:34 AM ^
That perfectly describes a Chow Chow we had when my kids were growing up. "Daisy" was gentle with them but otherwise was a box of rocks disguised as a furball.
By far the dumbest of the 9 dogs I've shared a home with over the years.
September 16th, 2022 at 11:37 AM ^
the great dane i had was by far the dumbest thing i have ever owned.
my pit bull is the smartest. the newfoundlands were up there too ... well, one was kinda dumb, but was smart enough to just follow the lead of the other two. you would tell her to sit and she would look at you confused, then see the other two sit, then would sit.
September 16th, 2022 at 8:58 AM ^
Both the Washington and Michigan State fans I know feel pretty pessimistic about this one. If the Huskies can stop the Spartans ground game and block Windom they have a chance. Thorne has regressed thus far.
September 16th, 2022 at 9:16 AM ^
MSU losing on national TV would make for a nice evening.
September 16th, 2022 at 12:48 PM ^

That dog don't know Tuck Comin'. He just don't know.

I live in New England, and have one friend who played in the UConn band the last time they went to Ann Arbor. He is excited for the current band to play in Michigan Stadium, which he said was the coolest experience of his marching band career. He is also the only person I know out here who is even aware there is a game outside of other Big Ten alum.
Mostly though, I just hope this is a bang where everyone has a good time and nobody gets hurt.
