Friday Posbang (OSU week /s)

Submitted by timtebro on December 11th, 2020 at 12:59 AM

No game this weekend. Anybody have any plans this Saturday? No football for the Tebro’s. Hopefully that translates to no misery for the first time since 2011! Gonna try to hit up some outdoor beer gardens while they’re still open amidst pending lockdowns out here in CA (Marcus Hall double birds of the week).

Ps - Taylor Swift and Kid Cudi just dropped albums?

I'll be spending my Saturday photographing an engaged couple up in Sedona, Az.  I was hoping for a little bit of snow on the red rocks, but that's not going to happen.  Honestly, I'd take this type of Saturday over most Michigan football saturdays of the last few seasons.

Escaping to Wisconsin's northwoods to enjoy some solitude with my dog.  I love this time of year in the woods.  We'll do some hiking and enjoy the peace and quiet on Saturday.  I'll also probably cut some wood and take down a dead tree or two on the property on Sunday.   Saturday evening will feature a roaring fire in the wood stove, me on the couch devouring a good book, and the dog curled up at my side.   No football for me this weekend, and I'm OK with that.

I'm going to try and play Cyberpunk 2077 if I can get the kids to hang out in a different room for a couple hours. It is not very kid friendly and with them not being in school I don't get much time to play or watch adult stuff! Also go Army beat Navy! The uniforms Army is wearing for this game are representing the division I served in, 25th ID, and my battalion 1-27th Infantry. Wolfhounds!

You know, historically the one nice thing about bye weeks was stress-free football on a Saturday as you had no dog in the fight then, and I think I will enjoy that tomorrow in between doing various things around the house. I don't know that this blog would have made it through this years iteration of The Game, given the way things were trending.

I'm starting a week of vacation this afternoon, so with no work on my mind, and no Michigan game to stress over I'll be having a great weekend with the family! Bring on the beer and sleeping in!

I'll get the leaf blower out for another round of large campfires, maybe down a tree for fun...  Would like to actually spend some time with the kid without working around a crapload of chores.

BTW, GO NAVY!!!!

Those Army uniforms couldn't be any more olive drab boring if they actually tried to make them more boring...

I definitely needed this posbang. I'm a middle-aged, married guy, with two kids living at home due to the pandemic and who can't seem to sleep at a reasonable hour. I've haven't posbanged in a long time.

Great idea! Only 3 things wrong with that suggestion:

1) My wife is terrified of getting COVID, so she goes to church, the grocery store, and to doctor appointments;

2) Our son isn't the most trustworthy person to be in the house without supervision; and

3) She doesn't drink.

Needless to say, I've been eagerly anticipating the day when we're empty nesters again!

I mean it is nice to end a season without losing to those bastards. Hopefully Michigan is done for the season. No reason for a cross over game it will just bring more embarrassment.

I’m thinking the football team is done for the season. Maybe a good thing.

Basketball team only has one more game before Christmas.

I’m going to be needing a fix.

It just doesn't feel right there is no Game on Saturday, but it will certainly improve my mental well being.  I'll be doing a Zoom reunion on Saturday with a group of people I worked with in the 1980s.  There will probably be 15-20 people on the call.  We were a very tight team that were essentially a start-up business inside a large corporation (AT&T) and we invented our jobs along the way.  One of the best work experiences of my career.

I'll be staring at a blank TV screen on Saturday from noon til 3:30.
