Friday Night You Know What Thread

Submitted by justingoblue on

So I waited until ten, and when the clock struck it became apparent I would be that guy. Anyway, anyone drinking anything good? Or drinking enough of something bad to make it a good time anyway?

I'll start it off by saying what I'm having: poor college student whiskey sours (whiskey and sweet and sour mix) and some Bud Light Lime that my girlfriend bought if I'm feeling good enough later.

Drinking a great bottle of austrailian shiraz watching the tigers getting shelled. Tough series for me, I've lived in Denver for 10 yrs now so have a soft spot in my heart for the rockies as well. Is having an AL and a NL team ok? Lemme know...

Magic Hat #9.   Started gamecasting the tigers game, but had to put that shit away after the 2nd.  Enjoying the beer and some smokes on my glorious balcony with some Pandora going.

The goal of the night has been avoiding making a phone call to the cougar d'jour.  Feels like a good idea, but I'm sober enough still to know it's not.  Bitches is crazy.

I consumed a rather excessive amount of alcoholic beverages last weekend, and again this week to celebrate finishing my MBA. It turns out I dehydrated myself so much that my back spasmed and locked up this AM. I literally army-crawled to the bathroom to take a hot shower and downed 800mg of ibuprofen. Worst pain of my life. Steady diet or gatorade and water all day...

But now? Oberon. Back in the saddle, folks.

If you are a poor college student, and you are having to drink whiskey sours 9with whiskey sour mix)--why drink at all?

I told you along time ago: You are NOT Marine Corps material.

Go Coast Guard. It's made for sissies.

Let's just say its an accomplishment that im able to type on my phone right now, I started drinking Bud heavy in the new America cans at 1pm after shooting guns this morning and as that case was finished a few hours ago, we moved on to a Bud light 15 pack. Now its off to the races with cheap rum and coke....what a great day it has been. On a side note, does anyone own an AR15 .223 and have experience getting a stuck empty casing out of the barrel? The AR only lasted a couple of 30 clips this morning before going out of commission, it was very disappointing.

It wasn't one of those carbon Bushy's was it? They seem to be riddled with problems.

To your problem: Take a brass cleaning rod down the muzzle end with a plastic (or brass) swab jag. If it is wedged, use the rim on a spent round to pry against the rim of the stuck round. DON'T use a screw driver or anything steel, it will jack stuff up.

On Topic: Over did it the past weekend, so I'm settling for a Coke Zero and a pizza slice from Sam's Club.... Best meal deal out there.

Its an Armalite, but I think the issue is the crap ammo I was shooting. My dad bought me a few cases of Wolf ammo he found on sale, which has a steel casing rather than brass, and from what I've heard the steel casings can give some problems wirh ARs ib general as they're designed for brass not steel. The Wolf ammo is actually made for AKs because they're designed to handle the steel when it expands while the ARs aren't. I planned on using my cleaning rod to pop it out but I didn't bring it with me this weekend, damnit. Oh well, saved some money in loads I guess. And for the record, the drinking began immediately post shooting session, im not trying to pull a Plaxico in the middle of the woods

Every time someone lectures me about carrying a double action only with no safety, I tell them I'm smarter than Burris. I don't plan on getting drunk and shoving it down the front of my pants.

The only problem I've had with cheap steel case ammo (which I plink with almost exclusively) is that you have to clean like a fiend because of the lacquer residue. But at only $.20 a round, it's worth it.

I am drinking a fine Ethiopian Wet Process Jimma Duromina Coop coffee - roasted by yours truly in my new coffee roaster I got for my birthday (tomorrow).

If you are into coffee, and you haven't gotten into home roasting - it is an art and a hobby well worth the time and effort.

And you can get coffee that blows Starbucks away for half the price (not counting the equipment)

You would have to go to a local roaster I think. It would probably be just as good, just a lot more expensive. There is a place in AA that does it, and will roast it on the spot.

The best thing about doing it yourself is knowing exactly when it was roasted. - and it is like $6 a lb.

go here and snoop around. i LOVE this place. I bought the Behmor 1600 - (about $300 and worth every penny).

the owner gives you a rundown of every type of coffee - and even what it tastes like at lighter and darker roasts. it is cool and fun. Makes me want to drink 20 cups a day though because it is so damn good.

I'm actually not drinking Red Dog, but Bud Light.

The story behind the 30 rack of RD that I have is that my (professional) fraternity in undergrad was on a tight budget and bought Natty/PBR/RedDog for the homecoming tailgate.  People tolerated the former two, but didn't bother opening the latter.  TWO years later now, and I'm almost ready to crack.

and what about Milwaukee's Best?

Cleared some leftovers out of my fridge tonight and, lo and behold, there was a can of Guinness hiding behind some tupperwares and restaurant to-go boxes.  Unexpected Guinness is the best.
