A couple Yeti's of Tito's and Diet Canada Dry and now I'm sipping on a Diet Pepsi and Bacardi Superior while watching a replay of the Home Run Derby that I DVR'd...GO!

A bottle of Maker's cask strength as a belated (but hugely appreciated) birthday gift. I hadn't tasted it before, but it's very nice.  It does need an ice cube or splash of water to open it up a little.  Cheers everyone!!

M-43 IPA by Old Nation Brewing. Only 65 IBU, but first taste of it indicated a more complex hop profile than most IPAs I've tried. Maybe too complex: wet hopped with Calypso, Amirillo, and Citra hops and then dry-hopped with Citra, Amirillo, and Simcoe hops. Good, but not great. Very, very cloudy/hazy orange/yellow brew with relatively little carbonation when poured into a glass. I've had better...

Started with a Stella. Then had a bourbon-spiked milkshake. Then had a a pahoehoe Two Brothers. This is after drinking Bell's Two Hearted all day.

I decided to pull out one of my last two bottles of Bell's Batch 9000. It's aged into a nice, thick, robust beer. Absolutely worth the wait--been pulling out a bottle every couple years, now I'm down to the last one.

What am I drinking is pretty irrelevant, how am I drinking is more to the point. Heavily. I'm drinking heavily. Valentine, though. It's absolutely delicious.

Tuna. It works as a nice summer pale ale. A week from now, I'll be starting two weeks at the beach house on Lake Huron. Two weeks of relaxation and much beer. Tomorrow is the Naperville Ale Fest. Looking forward to finding some new beers to take along on vacation.

I've been enjoying a variety of Bearded Iris brews tonight. Sky Hopper, Noisemaker, and now Ever Clever a DIPA hazy juice bomb. These guys are making the best IPAs and APAs in the Southeast and are on par with Trillium and Tree House. Phenomenal beer and I can't wait until they bottle the magic they have aging in 20 year old Weller barrels (aka Pappy barrels).
