Friday Night BBQ, Beverage and How the [Expletive] Do You Post a Picture Thread

Submitted by XM - Mt 1822 on April 19th, 2024 at 8:52 PM

Mates,

Later start than usual, but we haven't had one of these in quite a while.  Of course, what is or was on your plate, your BBQ, and in your cup?

Second, are you going to be at the Big House tomorrow?

Third, I see that I am not the only one who no longer has the ability to post pictures and gifs.  However, I see that a few of you do, and I'm jealous.

Can one of you big brain folks teach a small brain like myself how to post a picture/gif?  Would be greatly appreciated.

Hope you are well.  Spring is here.  Big meteor shower tomorrow night if you're in a clear place.

Nice lineup my bourbon buddy!!

Picked up a 1792 Full Proof store pick and a 1792 Single Barrel store pick recently. Started with Eagle Rare then Four Roses Single Barrel, now enjoying a generous pour of Blanton's store pick courtesy of another poster. 🥃🥃🥃

Happy Friday to all my Mgoblogger family 👍🤗

Had a broken tooth pulled today, so no drinking and only eating soft food (mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese). You should've seen my face when the doctor said no smoking for 72 hours. Shit, I didn't even make it 72 minutes. 😊

No Big House.

I can't figure out how to do pictures. I loved being able to copy and paste images and gifs and hope we get that function back.

For some reason, I can only get gifs from giphy.com to embed here. Not from any other site. To embed something from giphy.com:

  1. Find the gif on giphy.com
  2. Click "embed" on the right of the gif and copy the embed code
  3. Come here and click the "<> Source" button
  4. This will bring up something like this:

<p>
   &nbsp;
</p>

         5. Paste the embed code over the 2nd line ("&nbsp;"). Then click preview to see if it worked.

       Someone please have a beer or two for me. Happy Friday, y'all!

Had a pair pulled Tuesday (the last of five: after two decades of avoidance and abuse, I finally got my act together, found a great dentist, and am getting at least one part of my life in better order) so I feel you there. Damn fine reason to increase the ice cream intake, as if I needed an excuse. I am healing well and quickly, and wish you the same and even more so.

Oof, double your pleasure, huh?

I hear you. I skipped the dentist during undergrad and grad school because I couldn't afford it. When I finally got a job/insurance and went to the dentist in 2007, it was time to pay the piper. Tooth pulled, bridge, crowns, fillings...

Wishing you a smooth and fast recovery, my man!

My son recently went through that, but thankfully not nearly as much work. Eight fillings and three deep cleaning sessions that required novocain. When he entered college, he had no fillings. It was such a bummer for me, who really tried to preach good dental hygiene. He just let it go.

I can only get it to work for giphs, and giphs from giphy.com at that.

But for giphs, it's interesting now that I actually look at it. If I am copy and pasting into a blank space, this is what it looks like:

<iframe src="https://giphy.com/embed/1oIlsbETtJUQSzIDNk" width="480" height="480" frameBorder="0" class="giphy-embed" allowFullScreen></iframe><p><a href="https://giphy.com/gifs/rodneydangerfield-trippy-optical-illusion-1oIlsb…">via GIPHY</a></p>

But if I type something first, then copy and paste, this is what it looks like before I paste the embed code:

<p>
   Test message
</p>
<p>
   &nbsp;
</p>

and then this after pasting:

<p>
   Test message
</p>
<p>
   <iframe src="https://giphy.com/embed/1oIlsbETtJUQSzIDNk" width="480" height="480" frameBorder="0" class="giphy-embed" allowFullScreen></iframe><p><a href="https://giphy.com/gifs/rodneydangerfield-trippy-optical-illusion-1oIlsb…">via GIPHY</a></p>
</p>

Hope this makes sense.

Success

This was an image i had uploaded to mgoblog a few days ago for the Phoenix Coyote thread.

I took the code that Blue@lsu shared with me and first removed and tested what looked like extra code.  Then i took the remaining code and just replaced the source url from giphy with the source url for my photo which I had uploaded using the MgoBlog file manager.  You can find the url for the uploaded photo when you click the photo in the file manager.

After I was done, the code for this photo ended up as:

<p>

<iframe src=“ https://mgoblog.com/sites/default/files/users/user30750/2024-04/IMG_674…” width="480" height="480" frameBorder="0"  allowFullScreen>

<p>

I could play around with or maybe remove the height and weight to make it fit better   Not sure the other stuff is needed ether.

It wasn’t easy doing it on my iphone. I’ve never coded html.

Edit:

Anyone wanting to post a photo should be able to replace the url part of the following  with the url for their photo.  And if they upload their photo to MgoBlog I’ve provided instructions for finding that url.

<p>

<iframe src=

https://mgoblog.com/sites/default/files/users/user30750/2024-04/IMG_674…”

width="480" height="480" frameBorder="0"  allowFullScreen>

Here is a photo of where to find the photo url in the MgoBlog file manager. You can see it at the bottom just before the large version of the photo
