I'm sorta rooting for NB, cuz chaos, and I like Purdy (he's from AZ where I live).  But Rhule is an asshole and so is Scott Frost's mother, and also fuck them cuz '97, so meteor?

TCU's season is a great example of how sometimes you just get lucky and ride that momentum without it necessarily being a sign of actual stability.  I know they lost a TON of talent off last year's team so their struggles aren't a huge surprise but going 5-7 with a lot of those wins coming against bad teams (SMU is the only team with a winning record they've beaten all year) follows the same pattern they had for 3-4 years before last season.  This isn't meant to take anything away from that but also to highlight that being consistently good in this sport with the inherent turnover is really tough.  Also, some of the TCU shit-talking last year plus coming into this season from some of their fans probably should have been limited.  The Big 12 is set up such that every year one random-ass school does pretty good while OU or Texas usually remain the class of the conference.  It was TCU last year, Iowa State did it during COVID, 2021 had Okie St. and Baylor both have great years that they really couldn't build on, etc.  It'll be interesting to see how that league looks next year without TX and OU.
