1 hour and 33 minutes to finish the 1st set. I need a nap just watching them.
I always get a kick out of thinking about the level of play.
Sometimes I'll screw around and play a light set with a friend and I'm gassed at the end. These dudes are just blasting shot after shot after shot. They are beyond well-conditioned.
Starting to look like one-way traffic.
That first set was fantastic! Hoping for a long battle here.
Noooooooooo!
This would be a devastating way to end this incredible match.
Ughhhhhh
I'm no doc- but if that's not broken, it's a seriously severe sprain.
Heartbreaking. These chances don't come along every year. Heal well, Sasha
I can't even IMAGINE what it would be like to play 3 hours against Nadal, having missed some set points in the first set, still be going into a tiebreak in the second set with a chance to tie it at one AND THEN getting a potentially year ending injury to exit in a Grand Slam Semis. Just brutal.
Ouch, what a sad way to end. I'm rooting for Nadal to continue making ridiculous history at Roland Garros, but my heart goes out to Zverev.
I like Zverev, and I hope he wins some GS titles. He's won about everything but a GS title at this point. Probably the best current player without a GS title. If he would have won today, then he would have been a heavy favorite. I hope he can play at Wimbledon.
No chance he's back for Wimbledon. I'd say 50/50 for the US Open. That injury was awful.
I missed it live and just rewound to catch it... ugh, what an awful and gut wrenching scene. Rafa immediately knew it was severe. Absolutely horrible. Hopefully it's not a break and it doesn't end Zverev's season.
I am sick of Nadal. If that dude is "all natural" well color me surprised.
He's been a great player and won all 4 majors but his fanbase goes on and on about his greatness. The vast majority of his majors are at the French Open. Clay GOAT.
Ouch. That injury looks really bad. Sad way for the match to end.
OUCH!
All that can be done is hope that the doctors, nurses, therapists, etc do their thing and help him to a full and quick recovery.
And again, essentially nowhere to he found on a major network, so disappointing.
Nadal clay court dominance will never be surpassed.
It was on nbc lol.
