Would it have been too much trouble to put the guy's name in your post?  I'm glad someone else posted this awful news at the same time and did include his name so everyone doesnt have to wonder who it was without clicking the link.

Man dies

OP, trying to be clever, withholds name of deceased in title.  I call them out on it.  Mod agrees with me and fixes error.  OP gets mad that Mod fixes error.

KRK not knowing any of the backstory because he joined the thread three hours after all this happens takes a shot at me.

The salmon line though was funny.  Kudos to you for that one.

Man dude I had a few minutes to kill so I went back to read your other comments (was curious how someone could be a member of the board for 14 years yet only have 3K points) and quickly realized that literally EVERY comment you make is a negative observation on someone here or elsewhere.  Now I have to admit I gave up reading them around January so maybe there was something you said positive before then but the year 2023 was not one where you were a very happy fellow.

So I guess it was just my turn in the barrel.

Wasn't he around the same time (maybe same class) as Cobrani Mixon? Those two were definitely all-name team types.

Shame his football career and life didn't play out like he probably expected coming out of high school. Regardless, I'm sure it's a tough loss for his family. Prayers to his loved ones.

I remember him as a tough fullback/big back prospect out of Cincinnati that I wanted to succeed here based on name alone. He had trouble hanging onto the rock, as I recall, and saw his playing time diminish before transferring out. All of which are of no consequence. RIP, good sir. I remember watching him during the spring game and being very impressed with his running.  The spring games became painfully boring during the Carr years as they stopped being an actual game and just morphed into timed drills. (They also stopped letting fans on to the field afterwards to get pictures and autographs with the players around this time.)  Mister Simpson was the most interesting thing about the game that year....other than Braylon Edwards showing up in the hot pink shirt.

Really sorry to hear this news.

Met him down on the field way back when they did a meet the players thing at the stadium. He signed a football for my nephew (who just turned 28). Simpson was a freshman and I remember telling my nephew he could possibly be the next great running back for Michigan.

Wolverines should never die, yet they all do.  If you helped drive Mr. Hart to excellence and played for the TEAM that is all I need to know.  And considering the time frame any likeness or relation to one Homer J. Simpson is purely metaphysical.  Definitely first string all time hall of namer in my book.  RIP and condolences.
