Former KSU QB Will Howard to OSU

According to a random ESPN person without much journalistic credibility, but still.

Former Kansas State quarterback Will Howard tells ESPN that he’s committed to Ohio State. Howard led KState to the Big 12 title in 2022 and gives the Buckeyes one of the most talented and experienced available QBs on the market. “When I started talking to Ohio State, everything kind of lined up,” Howard told ESPN. “I had a list of things I was looking for, in terms of needing to go somewhere where there was a lot of talent around me and……compete for a national championship.” The Ohio State staff evaluated all of the top portal quarterbacks and arrived with conviction that Howard was the best among them, as they valued his arm strength, experience and dual-threat ability.

Looking at his game by game stats it is interesting his best stats came against @Texas and @Missouri both in losing efforts.  I am not going to bother to look into the details of this as Grant and Graham are going to eat him alive but I imagine he has some Stat Padford going on there where his team was down and he was slinging it all over the barn.   In many other games his stats were sub 60% completion rate.  Does have some decent legs on him at least.

Also playing against Big 12 defenses ain't exactly playing Big 10 defenses.

So he would be the Manhattan Transfer if he busts this move.  Not even going to speculate on the ripple effects this might have in the future of the Big 12 and on Ryan Day's shelf life.

Hmmm that’s an oddly large amount of detail to get on this topic. Almost sounds like OSU staff is feeding Thamel info. Wonder if that is the case for another notable topics /s

This one was incredibly obvious after the very first drive of the bowl game.

I wonder if that Devin Brown kid transfers (not like they'd care, they have the HS kid coming in).

Only problem is Brown is hurt, so he may have to stick it out through the spring. Although if I were him, I'd take my talents to Athens, Ohio...try to do well there for a couple years and just grad transfer back to a P5 for your final year.

Did anyone tell him that Fleming and Harrison are gone?  Smith might be a talented frosh, but he is definitely not MHJ and probably just offsets Fleming.

I will not be surprised if OSU’s offense struggles all year after watching the Cotton Bowl with no MHJ.

Its one thing to be QB for Kansas state. Its another to be QB for osu and a shit fan base that just ran out their starting QB because he wasnt perfect, and deal with the pressure to snap the Michigan losing streak.  Good luck dealing with that Mr. Howard.

Lincoln Riley was recruiting him hard so he liked him enough to think he can fit in his system as a passer. If both coaches thinks that he's good enough to be in their system, then he's better than his stats would indicate. He definitely has the size and athleticism to do damage on the ground.
