The Football Transfer Portal Is Now CLOSED*

Okay, technically, I believe it closes at 11:59pm ET, but I'm not staying up another hour to make this thread.

But the portal is about to close, meaning teams with open spots will have wait or fill them with guys that are already in the portal (once you're in, I'm pretty sure the deadline doesn't matter...it's just a deadline to enter).

I share this because...

1. It means you'll be able to breathe a little easier.

2. It means you'll know the names of guys who haven't decided on their future.

...one thing to note, grad transfers are exempt from the portal, so if you're about to harass MSU, I wouldn't waste my time. We don't know who is graduating next month and will be looking to move on.

This is a PSA more than anything.

No , he's right. Coleman wasn't their best player--Thorne was!

I kid, I kid. Still, I think Thorne's falloff from 2021 was mostly because their OL wasn't as good and obviously because they lost Walker. Thorne may not be a potential NFL draft pick but I suspect they'd be better off with third-year starter Thorne than first-year starter Noah Kim.

It's not like Coleman led the team in receptions, receiving yardage and touchdowns, anyway. What's that? He did? Never mind.

Question: So the deadline has passed to enter the spring portal. But can these players who entered sign with a new team at any time? Or do they have to wait till August? It's a little confusing. Thanks.

I believe they can sign with a new team at any time.  Those who graduate in the coming days/weeks can still enter as graduate transfers.  All non graduate transfers that enter the portal now will not be eligible this coming season.  That I believe was to stop the exodus during and post fall camp and still jump to another team for this season.
