Fluff piece on LB Ernest Hausmann on SB Nation - Major props given to Ben Herbert
SB Nation article came out yesterday about Michigan players (specifically Colson and Barrett) initial impressions / comments about Hausmann.
Here is the link:
TLDR - Hausmann gives Ben Herbert some major props stating that he was key in his decision to come to Michigan as he wanted to be trained by Ben after meeting with him.
Herbert and the Sandman are huge assets to their programs
Let's hope the department is committed to giving him whatever it takes to keep him. (They probably are but sometimes they seem to have strange lapses.)
We went from LB being a big question mark to it having quality depth and players that are likely to step up and become major factors on the overall defense. The portal gives you flexibility to shore up weaknesses quickly especially if your program trajectory is climbing which Michigan's is for two years. That is a positive about the portal for sure.
Very true. Although we probably could’ve used a CB transfer. It also taketh away….really would be nice to have Okie around still.
Anyone know why Okie left?

He transferred to Charlotte where Biff Poggi landed as the head coach. Biff coached him in high school as well.
Ernest knows a good thing when he sees it. I think we're all going to enjoy the new feature film coming out this fall "Ernest Goes Ham on the B10"
Hausmann's internal monologue when considering his transfer destination: "You know, wherever I go the team has to have a strength and conditioning coach that looks almost comically, stereotypically like an S&C coach for a major college football program. But what are the odds I'll ever find that..."
Coach Barwis and his whistle are still sorely missed, even just for the entertainment factor alone
Whatever Herbert wants to get paid...double it.
And just like that, it appears we have solid depth at LB this year.
