As much as MLB's billionaires vs millionaires shit-show was frustrating to watch over May and June, I'll still be watching as much baseball as possible.  Finally, live sports other than bowling, wrasslin', and NASCAR left-turns!

I'm not even watching the game and I can tell Angel just blew that call.

EDIT: I had no idea Angel was already trending on Twitter with an awful strike three call.

EDIT #2: For those wondering WTF is he doing behind the plate, you should've known it would take a pandemic for this to happen.

"Umpire Angel Hernández, who has sued Major League Baseball over a lack of top assignments, will serve as an interim crew chief this season after a dozen umps decided to sit out amid the coronavirus pandemic."

Greg Maddux is one of the most underappreciated Hall of Fame pitchers. The way he could mix speeds and location was truly masterful. And he didn't throw mid-90s heat either. Hitting is all about timing and he was able to change speeds, location and eye levels without straying far from the strike zone.

First pitch was awful. Then the Star Spangled Banner singer sang it at like warp speed for the Yanks game. The guy singing at the Dodgers game was quite possibly the worst singer I’ve ever heard sing the Anthem.

Screw the sports bubble, I hope it keeps collapsing and these overpaid children lose more and more money.

Hey: note to all go throw a ball with your kid. Turn off the TV.

Two Michigan-related baseball notes: former Michigan pitcher James Bourque made the Opening Day roster of the Nationals, He made one appearance in 2019.  Former Michigan infielder/closer Jacob Cronenworth made the Opening Day roster of the Padres. In 2019, he had a dual role a la Ohtani at Triple-A in the Rays organization, and may do the same with the Padres. When he sees the field, he will be making his MLB debut.
