A few more football notes
Some football notes from someone very close to it:
There are 8 different configurations on the Offensive line being looked at.Three positions are locked up. Bredeson, Runyan, and Ruiz.. Two are up for grabs and the most likely candidates are JBB, Spanellis, Onwenu, and Hudson. An outside shot for Mayfield and Filiaga.
One DB will play both ways and it is not Hawkins. Some Freshman turning heads are Mayfield, Bell, Hutchinson, and Myles Sims.
There isn’t an OC, JH has control. More shotgun and spread as expected.

I believe umbig11 suggested last night that his position may come down to who they think the 2nd best tackle is and if that person can handle LT.

Not my info (source is legit), but he says “no current” players. It was former players, grad transfrers, staffers etc. That’s all I have.

Ablauf is a true pro. His statement was not a misdirect - he would have info about whose apparel was online before pointing his answer towards those non-players.

Assuming they sold them after leaving the school I don't see why. Coaches can't punish/control a player not on their team. But who knows with the NCAA.

No forfeits even if it was found to be current players. Though it looks like now it is just former players. As long as no cover up is attempted, it would be suspensions only. As already established by N.C. case.

This was my thought as well. He was an incredible WR in high school and he is reportedly the fastest guy on the team. And he's not in line to start. Gotta get the best athletes involved how you can.

This. I hope by end of next week we'll have a better indication of 3rd and 4th RBs. I'm assuming Samuels is one of them but curious if any of the freshmen are pushing.

I would like it to be Samuels. He is pretty jacked and has some good speed. I would like the freshmen to be involved heavily in this race as well.

Thanks, of course. If you don't want to say who the DB is, fine. But Ambry Thomas needs to be on the field and he didn't just play a little WR in HS. He dominated some practices at WR at the Opening.

Yep, I thought it was Thomas as well. Considering the departures from the 2016 WR class, and the depth at CB, it's a great way to get him on the field.

With the buzz about Ambry (already assumed to be doing returns, and he's the fastest guy on the team) it has to be him.
Dont know for sure but that might've helped push McDoom out if so. Because if Ambry plays on offense it's probably in the slot, taking jet sweeps and stuff like that. Snaps that McDoom would not be getting.
Of course it could be the reverse, borrowing Ambry because those snaps are now available.

I'd guess that if Ambry was squeezing out McDoom, UMbig11 would have told us earlier. He did mention McDoom was expected to leave in the spring. Ambry brings a different dimension than the others. The staff seems to be looking for different kinds of slots in the current recruiting class too. Not burners like Ambry, but more versatility.
