Fake Ref on the Field Ends in Brawl in UCLA at AZ Game
I’m not sure why it ended in a brawl but right before halftime a fake ref runs onto the field blowing a whistle from the top of the screen and a few seconds later the teams are brawling. Crazy stuff.

Shit, game was years ago. Whatever, still crazy.

Pac 12 still in the practice of using fake refs

By the look of the score. Maybe the Arizona player was talking some seriously trash about the game already being over. Who knows but it was definitely some crazy stuff

Most flight we've seen out of UCLA football in years.

It was 2011

hard to keep track of time when the players are flying so high

That fake fan - a misguided genius

Honest question: assuming he is wearing the correct attire, is there really anything to differentiate a drunk guy from a Pac12 ref?
September 30th, 2019 at 4:41 AM ^
Drunk guy might get the call right.

If a fan gets on the field dressed as a player, do the refs start throwing punches at the camera operators and media people?
September 29th, 2019 at 9:23 PM ^
Again? Holy shit, this exact same thing happened in 2011!

My greatest disappointment clicking this link is that Keith Jackson wasn’t calling the game.

Don't worry, I'll bet he's already signed up for next years game.

When you said fake ref I kept looking for John O’Neill.

That makes me miss Fan Man.
September 29th, 2019 at 10:08 PM ^
How did the fan start the fight? It looked like it started after he ran off. Or did they edit out the instigation?
September 29th, 2019 at 10:37 PM ^
That was as weird as the third quarter of the Lions/Chiefs game

Why are you posting something that happened eight years ago?
September 29th, 2019 at 10:51 PM ^
To the best of my recollection, nobody posted anything about this in 2011 or any of the years since. Better late than never. OP, thanks.

Old but still cracks me up

This was back when Chris Fowler was still doing Game Day. Reece usually did pbp on the late night ESPN games which sometimes included Pac12 games.
Reece moved to the studio within a year or two of that season, eventually taking over for Chris Fowler.

Are you taking us back to 2011 because that was the 1 good year in a seven year horror show?
September 29th, 2019 at 11:42 PM ^
The score of that game I found suspicious because there's no way a RichRod defense could hold an opponent to 7 points in the entire first half. But apparently, he came the following year.

On a somewhat-related note, does anyone else hate watching videos from Twitter? Not sure if it's just me, but they're always grainy, and they almost always jump frames every couple seconds. It's annoying as hell.

OP, try ESPN. It's more current than YouTube.

I'm really surprised more brawls don't break out in games among the players. With all the trash-talking, occasional late hits, and general rivalry stuff, it seems fights would be more common. Probably fights in the stands are much more common. Hopefully, we won't become Europe anytime soon.

you gotta respect a fake ref in knickers.

If you want to see fake refs just tune in to any NFL game and wait for a replay.
