EURO 2020 Final Open Thread
I didn’t know any of this. They really did everything they could to line it up for England
Yes. For all of their pains in leaving Europe and severely harming their own country's economic stature and quality of life, England got to play at home almost throughout, host the final, create a disgusting display of very English hooliganism, and continue abusing two of their Black players deep into the night. Spent the afternoon with my family rooting for them to lose, and saw them seen off by a superior Italian squad. Only regret that some very decent--and otherwise innocent--young men have to play for them.
Where is it going again?
Forza Italia! It's coming to Rome!
Blowing an early lead in incredibly heartbreaking fashion - England once again proves they are the Michigan football of international soccer.
Not true. England actually got to a championship game.
Michigan has never gotten the kind of preferential treatment England got in this tournament. Imagine us getting to play playoff games in Ann Arbor while everyone else has to travel constantly.
Parking the bus in the 3rd minute of a game is an incredible strategy. I don't know any team that could just take assault after assault for 86+ minutes and not concede.
If England would have played to win instead of playing not to lose it could have been a different game.
The only one that I can think of in memory is Iran vs Argentina a little while ago in the world cup. Iran honestly had like 11 defensive players for the entire game.
They were a whistle away from escaping with a point- it was an absolutely fascinating game to watch.
You should start watching the French Division "La ligue 1" if you found that way of playing fascinating...
