You know the drill - this is your thread for hot takes and brief musings about our offensive performance and offensive playcalling in our game against East Carolina.

I am definitely interested to see how the UFR for this game looks. My guess is Zinter and Keegan grade out well, Barnhart grades out pretty good, Nugent has a decent amount of + but also several -. I think Hinton will grade out real poorly and the same with the TEs (minus Bredeson).

I think a lot these complaints about Corum are ignoring the likelihood that he has not been hit since the Ohio State game 10 months ago on that first carry before he went out. I would not be surprised if he wasnt hit once in the entirety of camp. I think its natural he was working off a bit of rust and a bit hesitant at times. I am not that worried about it. I think that his top-end speed is down from 2021, but that was true last year too and is a result of the weight gain bulk, and he certainly did not look slower today than last season. I would take that extra power all day because of his effectiveness in short yardage.

I am with everyone and am a bit worried about the OL based on today, but some of this was the box stacking ECU was doing. I am curious if they go with the other tackles next week and Henderson, Keegan, Nugent, Zinter, Jones works better as a group. Will be curious to see if everyone stacks the box that aggressively, especially if JJ keeps dealing like that. Brian has talked about how everyone forgets how soft a lot of teams played us last year and it might be time for everyone to come to terms with everyone giving us the TCU treatment and loading the box.

1.  Roman Wilson was fantastic.  This is exactly what I wanted to see to show me that JJ is taking that leap.

2.  I didn't see both Corum and Edwards on the field at the same time.  Would like to see this.

3. Corum looked great.  This was a great game to build confidence.

4. Starters were out in the 4th quarter.

ECU selling out to stop the run while in a minimal zone coverage in the secondary held up against the running game even though a few big gains were had. I believe they were figuring on Michigan not running JJ at all. If Michigan had run a few run options or called qb runs, that might’ve been the only thing yesterday that could’ve opened up the overall running game more.

Also, with the new clock rules, a game with running stats like last year’s PSU game isn’t very likely. Still possible, but not likely.
