It takes MAYBE 5 seconds worth of thought to realize that a former NFL OL-coach/OC is not going to take the San Jose State job. Especially after you think that Durkin got a P5 job last year.

that's not to mention that it comes from a sketchy site.... cumong man
I respect that you admitted it was a sketchy site, but that definitely should have made you think about it for the requisite 5 seconds before posting

Mike McIntyre was former NFL assistant before going to SJSU.

he's too short for SJSU...he needs another year or two under Harbaugh to finish growing before he'd be ready to move on....or something....

Kevin Wilson's available.
I'm just saying.
December 1st, 2016 at 7:53 PM ^
This is like the Mike Leach situation. He mistreated his players, will end up getting paid a buyout for a year or two until this blows over and then be able to get a solid P5 job. No college is going to hire a guy that was just fired for mistreatment of players
December 1st, 2016 at 8:04 PM ^
There are examples everywhere where coaches are fired for mistreating players or having a scandle getting fired, get paid for a year or two through their buyout and then get a new job in a similar situation. If the Mike Leach example isn't good enough(Even thought it's almost the exact same thing), look at Bobby Petrino too

I don't think Michigan would fish in that pond.
We don't need to.

didnt know you meant the /s for your comment. I thought you meant it for my comment

MF double post, bang me anyways

This is true but usually happens in a place where the local culture is receptive to old school hard ass types. Like Pullman, WA or Knight at Texas Tech or Petrino in Kentucky etc. San Jose State is not that type of fit. Plus there is the obligatory cooling off period.

Promote Fisch or Wheatley to Offensive coordinator and hire Kevin Wilson for passing/run game coordinator.

But personally, I think that OL coach is the most important assistant coach on the staff. Hoke recruited the OL like a mad man but has bad coaching and they were terrible. If Les is a proven OL coach, then I'm all for it due to his recruiting prowess

I just want Les for recruiting and to see him on the sidelines again. Also for him and Mattison to film some sort of buddy cop movie.
December 1st, 2016 at 8:18 PM ^
First, Les wants to be No. 1, not No. 3 behind Harbaugh and Brown as DL coach, or if OL coach, he'd be No. 3 behind Harbaugh and the new OC (or Fisch).
Second, Les sucks too much oxygen out of the room, if he and Harbs disagreed, it'd be much too much lockerroom stress. Too many cooks...

The guy has skills and has a way with kids. But Harbaugh is the brand and can anchor pretty much any candidate he wants I believe.
December 1st, 2016 at 7:58 PM ^
1) He is definitely not leaving, its SJSU
2) Drevno isn't known as a great recruiter and we are in on high end prospects at OL, who are all looking at theirdraft prospects, which Michigan provides, and the available early playing time
December 1st, 2016 at 7:13 PM ^
It's like they literally never saw one they didn't want.

Well I like Coach Drevno and would love to see him stay but if he is ready to move up then I'm very happy for him. I thinnk he can do better than SJSU though!
