The AAU world and “perks” for these recruits are a cut throat environment. Beilein just won’t get entangled in that environment and UM has little chance without the perks.
It’s ironic that UM recruiting will probably rise once he retires even though he is a fantastic developer of talent.

It’s fun to see “Beilein can’t close” comments days after Iggy, Johns, DeJulius, Castleton, and Nunez stepped on campus.
He clearly thinks he can go one and done, but he was never going to be guaranteed the starting job with DeJulius already on campus. Good luck to him, but I think he made a short-sighted decision.

The kid is good but going to that garbage school was dumb. Not a very smart. All talking player development and academics then goes there? I don't know if he'a one and done either. He's has strong moves to the basket and can dunk but he doesn't have elite overall athleticism. DeJulius will eat him up with his handles. The kid doesn't have the lateral quicks. He's too lenky. Don't care that he didn't choose Michigan. They'll get someone else and be just fine.
