Good, that means he was a team player that never got into trouble.

Since you were first Shop Smart I'll comment here. Although I'll bet (for future instances) that the last, i.e. top most, gets more hits?
Anyway, good luck Dan! Hope you find the playing time you seek. We barely knew ye, it seems...

Thanks. But the mods already took down the other two. They generally do that when they see on twitter someone committed or left the program. They know that there will be multiple posts.

One of the curses of having a blog such as this one is that a fair number of people have a need to be the first, while others simply relay the information as a public service, but either way we almost invariably get multiple posts on news such as this. Of course, the record unadjusted for quirks caused by traffic is thirteen and it was the Michael Ferns commitment back a few years ago. I think the Jabrill Peppers commitment might have been a close second.

Does anyone know if he got his degree? If not, I tend to question the wisdom of transferring from a great school that would give you a free prestigious degree to a smaller school for football when your future obviously isn't pro football.

It's pretty difficult to get a degree at UM in 2 years.

He was the 414th ranked player which is a very high 3 star. Maybe in the context of why take 6 OL I guess but within a vacuum its the type of ranking that goes on to be a front line starter at plenty of schools.
But now half the OL class is gone.
Throw in guys like Ross Douglas, D'Mario Jones, Cstonte York, Reon Dawson, Jaron dukes an almost that entire bottom half of class are guys who are projecting to be duds or non contributors. Unless Stribling or Hill make a serious impact its really nothing outside the "top 300" guys in the country in that class that are going to help.
Not many diamonds in the rough in 2013 class but according to Hoke he developed Mike Martin in his 1 year here so no worries. Player developmen was never an issue.

didnt hoke take samuelson rather than the 2 other (quite obviously more talented better prospects) OL recruits seriously considering m late in the cycle? i think one of them might have picked ucla over michigan anyway but i know that 6'10" recruit named skipper liked michigan and absolutely wouldve signed yet hoke jumped at samuelson instead (skipper likely starting OT at arkansas this year).
what a blessing to finally have a winning coach with not only a proven eye for talent evaluation but also player development chops

Well, I suppose this opens up another scholarship for Michigan's large recruiting class.
I know that Samuelson hasn't really contributed, but does this have any serious impact on OL depth?

I would have stayed to get my degree and did my best, even if I was stuck on the practiced team. Though, my favorite school is Michigan.

-seriously someone shut the door don't let this young man leave!
Classy exit!
Sorry he couldn't have a shot at contributing more to this team but I hope he gets a shot at an NFL roster.
