Couple of random thoughts

I don't remember who mentioned the Snapchat recommendation, but that was money. I'm an old guy so I really won't participate in the whole Snapchat thing, but following the football team is gold. I just saw a Snap of Big Mike O, next to Caesar Ruiz, and man Mike looks good, and so does Ruiz. I suggest people use this app, it's pretty cool.

So, earlier this year my wife and I made plans to catch the U2 show in D.C. with some friends who live in the District.  Our friends there bought the tickets, so when we showed up to their place I cut them a check for the $400 or so.  But a couple days later, I get an email from them saying they misplaced the check, probably in a public place, can I cancel it and write them a new one?  So I stop payment and plan on sending them the new check, but forget about it.

Meanwhile, my wife realizes she left her favorite, uh, pair of earrings at the friends' place.  So she writes them and they are like "yeah, we have the earrings."  But they forget to do it.  So they are supposed to send the earrings to my wife, and I am supposed to mail the check to them, and we have both forgotten.

Okay, so then it turns out one of the friends is going to be down in Richmond, VA, where I now live, for a work meeting.  So we plan it out--after her meeting, she stops by my office to deliver the package.  I give her a check for $400.  Easy as pie.  Only this morning the friend texts me to say she needs to bring a "colleague" to the meeting.

Seems suspicious.  Might this colleague be on the job?  WIll one of them be wearing a wire?

Go Blue.

I just want to say that I came to this thread for a totally random thought and did not leave disappointed in the least given the criterion. Well done.

What I will do with my personal takeaway on this, of course, is another matter altogether, but the purpose was met anyway.

I can't seem to ever say the word "muffin" without feeling better after saying it.  Conversely, I always feel worse after saying the word "happy."  Weird.

The movie, "The Deer Hunter," - the winner of the Academy Award for Best Picture in 1979 - was a gawdawful movie. I'm contemplating writing a diary to explain why, but just know this, nobody gets rich and famous playing Russian roulette, and I never want to see Robert DeNiro's junk again, thank you very much.
