Coach Funk's dad died

Per Dave Brandon's Twitter, coach Funk's dad died over the weekend.  So let's maybe quit piling on and calling for the dude to be fired.  There's more important things in life.

 

Condolences, prayers for U-M asst football coach Darrell Funk and his family. His father, Howard, passed away over the weekend.

It's not like I told the dude, "your dad died, but you suck at your job and should be fired." No, I said it on a blog in which I know he will not see, and so it will in no way effect him. Look, I'm just saying that just because his dad died, (which is obviously tragic), but in the end doesn't effect whether he keeps his job or not. Don't sit here and tell me what kind of person I am based on something written on a board.

You came into a thread about one of our coaches father dying, where the OP (me) said "maybe lay off on calling for the guy's job" and then went ahead and posted that he should be fired anyhow. That's classless.

And I hope you get banned. I'm embarrassed to be in the same fan base as you.

His father wasn't dead during any of the other games this year...

I lost my job ones two weeks after buying a new home, less than a week before Christmas and my father had just passed away... Such is life...

Condolences to him and his family, it is hard to lose somebody like that...

Very sad news, and condolences to Funk's family.

I was at the funeral of the father of one of my colleagues just last week to show support, and just from seeing how broken up he was, I cannot even imagine how that feels. I hope that the Michigan family is behind Darrell Funk in this difficult time.

Wow. I honestly wouldn't care about such an arbitrary, useless thing as a football game outcome if my dad just died. Hope all is at peace in the Funk family.

I once saw an elderly michigan fan get his coat ripped off by idiot Ohio fans and thrown in a mud puddle. The extent some of you supposed michigan fans are taking falls right in this category. Time to grow up and realize that family is much more than anything. It makes me sad to think I am in the same boat as some of you.
