Closest bar within waking distance Maryland/UM game?
Wife and I will attend the UM/Maryland game. Announced today it will start at 3:30pm. Figure the game will end around 7pm.
My wife and I attend the UM/Maryland whenever it is in Maryland. When the game is at noon, there is a friendly, comfortable bar at the golf-course across the street from the stadium. A 3:30pm start guarantees that bar wont be open at 7pm, considering it's a golf-course bar.
So, besides the Maryland golf-course bar (which will be closed before the game ends), where is the next closest bar, within walking distance of Maryland stadium?

For a bar, I can't say. But I can definitively say that you should take a walk to Taqueria Habanero (or drive to Taqueria La Placita) and eat there.

I don't know about "waking" distance, but I do know you can try this thing called Google and it will probably tell you all you want to know...

If you drink enough, there is no waking distance, only sleeping distance.

If you're willing to walk 45-ish minutes, I highly recommend Town Center Market - convenience store, bottle shop, and liquor store that also happens to have 30 taps (and an outdoor patio if weather is nice). Great place to get a flight (or two).

For stuff like this, I would find the stadium on Google Maps then search for bars using the “search this area “ function.

Having performed this exercise many many places I can tell you it is barely above a waste of time if there is anyone with actual knowledge of the local.
Thanks for the tip.

The College Park Marriott at the corner of University Blvd and Adelphi Rd is probably the closest bar. Zero atmosphere, but it has drinks and plenty of seating. I went there a few weeks ago after needing a post-round beer and finding the golf course bar closed on a Tuesday.

East of US-1 (the road that runs along the eastern side of UMD's campus) and north of Campus Drive is probably your best bet.
East of US-1 and south of Campus Drive is where all the frats are. There are a few bars there too but it's a different atmosphere versus north of Campus Drive.

RJ Bentley's is a U. Maryland legacy and right across the street from the campus. However, it's kinda at the opposite end of the campus. It's about a mile walk from Bentley's to the stadium.

Looneys is not that far away. Vigilante Coffee also has really good coffee.

Seconded. Great humans run Vigilante.

Town Hall is the local bar for non-students. It's not fancy at all.
Bentley's is more likely to have students, but it's across campus.

According to Google Maps, the answer is Loony's Pub.

Do you want to be around college students or no?
All the college kids will go to the bars on Route 1.
Bentley's, Cornerstone and a couple of others that are right in that general vicinity.
If you want to be around adults, Uber somewhere else or take the Metro into DC.
