Trying some new bourbon barrel wines tonight.  Should be interesting...

Drinking a Bell's Christmas Ale right now.

Hoping Santa brings me a bottle of bourbon this year ?.

Either way, heading to Waco in the next few weeks to get Balcones Blue Corn Bourbon, 130 proof yet very smooth.

Cheers to all ?

Playing fancy chef and cocktail bartender for about one-and-a-half clients, me and my fine lady, who doesn't much like the way liquor interacts with her chemo and side-effect meds, but it's a special occasion. Making experimental bourbon-based mixed drinks tonight. Will let you know if I create something special, if I remember it. No matter what, we will top off the evening with a tad of Benedictine and Brandy, a 35-year-old Christmas Eve tradition which once upon a time signified that the stockings were all hung, the presents were all wrapped, and Santa was about to arrive, but now that the kids are off on their own just means it's time for bed. Merry Christmas everybody!

Picked up a couple cases of this years Goose Island Bourbon County Stout last black friday. Intend on a few tonight, Christmas and New Years when Blue trounces Bama!! (ok, so I may just get so drunk I believe they do it. :P)

(btw, The Federalist BBA Zinfandel is damn good also, but getting hard to find.)

The MGoGirlfriend and I just polished off a bottle of prosecco (her preferred bubbly) while she finished baking Christmas cookies, and will be moving on to something in the porter family with the mountain of appetizers that will serve as dinner, while we watch the 1951 version of "A Christmas Carol."

There certainly are worse ways to spend Christmas Eve.

as soon as 'santa' gets done dealing with the 'reindeer' (read: cattle) in a few minutes, there might be some red pop in his future soon after that...
