have no accountability for recruiting players who do stupid things, and cannot be blamed for failing to monitor the behavior of their players, even when that behavior results in a 1-year suspension.  Lol.

your view is that when players fail drug tests, zero perceent of the blame can be attributed to the coaching staff? That is your view? Thanks.

He's still undersized for his position. That it potentially links to stress fractures or whatever his injury is sucks. But he needed to add mass.

I don't disagree with everything you said. I don't think Erik necessarily does either. Erik didn't say the staff was faultless. He just commented on the fact that Michigan has been unlucky with regards to injuries/suspensions the past few years, which is true regardless of how you slice it.

has injured the same foot three years in a row. He is injury prone. That is not the staff's fault.

Sophomore year - injured left foot in the tourney

Junior year - injured the same foot against NW

Senior year - injured same foot against IL.

It's been my opinion that his injury was never a sprained ankle or lower leg injury. He broke that left foot again. The staff is trying to keep that under wraps because it will destory his draft stock.

It is the only reason that make sense for keeping the actual injury a secret and just calling it a lower leg injury.

Horford had his family in his ear about going to Florida - where his brother was a star, remember - for a long time.

The McGary issue has been addressed by others.

The Morris situation was nothing like what the basketball staff has faced.  Morris had clearly been concussed and then was put back into the same game

Sanders did a great job with guys like Morgan and Stauskas.  McGary has been injured in the NBA just like he was in college.  Caris seems injury prone too.  Spike's hip issues are genetic, as I understand it.*  That leaves Walton last year.

I'm not saying the staff is perfect at all, but that doesn't rule out bad luck.

The coaching staff provided nothing but misinformation and poor PR about this injury for 2 months and made the ridiculus statement that he was OK and it was a player decision. Then they played him versus Purdue and either he was not ready to play or he reinjured himself. Both on the coaching staff. Hoke would have been highly criticized for this, but not this coaching staff.

they are reviewing all of their training approaches. I don't though how you blame him for what looked like a rolled ankle that turns into a season ending injury. And I don't know how every miss is an indictment offsetting a longer list of hits. Horford wanted to leave to play in a system that was suited to his game. How did that work for him? I'm not sure on Max, I thought they needed that scholarship for Wagner. If true we will see how it works out in the long run.

Clearly this is Belein's fault. Obviously sabotaging his players' health in an attempt to offer playing time to recruits. Terrible strategy. Fire everyone.

This is sad stuff. Hope he has a great NBA career. Nobody's fault, just poor luck. Best wishes to him going forward!

and his decision whether to play or not feel free to delete your account, log off of social media and stop watching college sports. These are still young men and they don't owe you a damn thing. You are an embarrassment to Michigan fans and alumni everywhere.

Caris missed the bulk of last season, as well.

What the hell is this team supposed to do when its best player is injured for two straight years?

I understand this arguement to a point but Caris wasn't even supposed to be back this year. The roster situation is entirely on Beilein. Let's not forget we lost to EMU and NJIT last year with Levert and got taken to pound town vs SMU, UConn, and Xavier also with Levert.

This program is going in a bad direction. I think some are seeing this before others. Beilein has 1 final 4 in his life. It took a miracle shot to get there. Pretty clear 2013 is an abberation and this year is more like the rest of his career.

I don't think it was a miracle shot - I mean he shot it from far away and it was contested, but why is it considered a miracle that it went in.

The shot only tied the game and in fact, there was time left in regulation for Kansas to get their own shot.

Without knowing all of the facts I don't know how one can point fingers at the coach, the staff or Caris or make judgments about his future.

I just want to thank him for his time here and his commitment to Michigan and wish him the best for his future.  Keep in mind that this was a kid who was going to spend his college career at Ohio (NTO).  He certainly gave the fans more than we expected from him.

The NBA teams will have the chance to evaluate him.  Perhaps we will know more later.

I do blame our shorts for a large part of the struggles this year.  Those are simply not the shorts of a good basketball team.  To be clear, people can blame Beilein if they want.  I am blaming the shorts.

Very disappointing, but not real surprising based on what's happened over the past few weeks.

If nothing else, I just feel bad for him.

Yeah, that left foot of his is going to be scrutinized to high heaven by the NBA.

If I was a GM I would want him to be fully evaluated by an Orthopedic doctor of my choosing.

Caris is an elite athlete, it's hard to compare someone like him to a regular person.  But, he gained 40+ lbs of muscle in a short period of time, perhaps his legs and njoints weren't ready to support the extra weight.

It's a function of landing under the radar recruits instead of blue chips, there's going to be a difference physically and the under the radar guys are going to have to change their bodies radically more quickly in order to compete.  But we've had higher rated guys suffer lower leg injruies too.

This is devastating to Caris, he worked hard to become the player he is and now he's unlikely to get drafted in round 1 if at all.

I think it's quite obvious we don't have all the information, but I wish they would just come out and confirm that they believe it's none of anyone's business instead of saying it's unrelated to the previous injury and is a simple ankle sprain, even a high one.

I've had high ankle sprains on both ankles, and the second one I did I didn't see a practitioner nor a physical therapist and was back playing in a month. I've seen high school trainers get kids back from them quicker and better than this. I refuse to believe this is solely an ankle sprain.

I mean, you can hear Dakich say, "LeVert didn't flip it over, so he's okay..."
