Who are the Michigan Wolverines of the Bundesliga? I mean who would our fan base identify with there?
Eintracht Frankfurt. They have a big, loyal following that they constantly disappoint, lots of trophies won a long time ago, and they win just enough to occasionally make you happy, but ultimately leave you very unsatisfied.
Not a perfect fit for Michigan, but Dortmund fits a lot of criteria:
• huge stadium
• a lot of second place finishes
• had a historically great team in the late 90’s
• has produced some historically great players
