Brian Wiseman, leaves gig with NY Islanders
So, according to this guy,
M hockey alum Brian Wiseman is leaving his coaching gig with the New York Hockey Islanders just 23 days after taking the job. The following is speculation, but considering that M doesn't officially, technically have a HC on contract at the moment (only 5 weeks prior to camp, IIRC)... well let's just say the hairs on the back of my neck are standing up. IOW, this is giving me the heebie-jeebies. AKA,
Or, maybe the Isles are just a tire fire and Wiseman cut bait. Or vise versa. Or maybe it's totally innocuous. All things are possible in the multiverse, but it's getting late in the day to have no contract for a HC of a D1 program.
So on brand for the Islanders.
BPONE is pretty on-brand for MgoBlog…
Why the comma after Wiseman?
Why the comma after, Wiseman?
It's my favoraite punctuation. Honestly, I think I was going to add ", UM Alum," but got distracted
it was actually correct--what he screwed up was the second/third word. was supposed to read
Brian, wise man, leaves gig with Islanders
FWIW, I'm a big Isles fan, and I've yet to see an explanation of why Wiseman bolted
So fire up the Flight Tracker.
Finally found out the real reason Neil Smith left after 40, or so, days.
Smith was fired by some guy named Wang.
“Fired” because of his reaction/resignation to finding out that his owner directly signing their goaltender, in which the GM had no idea about, to a 15 year, 67.5M contact, which was bought out after year 7 and will see the Islanders pay him 1.5M each year through 2029.
Thats quite a deal. Garth must've had pictures of Wang's wang.
Oh no
gimme muckalt
What “alarm bells”?
Yeah, this entire post seems overly dramatic.
The Wodon guy from CHN basically has some kind of grudge/vendetta against Michigan hockey. Been going for a few years now.
Don't know if alarm bells is the correct phrase, but as far I know, there's been no news (good or bad) on the Misconduct Investigation from Winter 2021.
Throw in the fact that Mel Pearson's contract expired on May 1st, and we still haven't re-signed him....and I can understand that someone would think Wiseman leaving an NHL gig after less than a month is possible "news" for Michigan.
I will throw in some Michigan news that I haven't seen posted on here, but it's possible I missed it, so that's why no new thread.
Mike Cammalleri's company BioSteel is going to be the official sports drink provider for the NHL.
Not bad. One of those Michigan players I was always glad to see on the ice, nice to see he's doing well after hockey.
The only thing that annoys me more than a misused apostrophe (like when people use 's for the plural version of a word) is a misused comma.
As for the substance of the post...
Very interesting indeed!
Annoy’s you the most? Sounds, dumb
Hmmmmmmm. My eyebrow is certainly raised now
Not sure how to word this politically, but Wodon has always been a little more enthusiastic about this story than I think he should be. Getting a little Mueller report overhyped at times like he's hoping he's stumbled onto a massive conspiracy where evil Michigan is the evil giant he always knew we were.
However, this is the most suspicious occurrence yet. Unless Mel is canned and Wiseman is HC in waiting, it seems more likely that the Isles found something out about Brian they didn't like and pulled the plug on it. The key point of clarification is did Wiseman leave the Isles or did he "leave" the Isles...
John U Bacon said "media" outlets have the completed report. Looks like Pearson fate should be decided in the next week
The Islanders unexpectedly hired John MacLean as an assistant, apparently pushing Wiseman w/o explanation.
