Is Brad Hawkins going to play?
His PFF #s are incredible and exactly what we need against OSU.

I don't know. Is he?

Unless he's injured, why in the world wouldn't he play tomorrow?

He did not play much against Maryland. Not sure if injury related.

He probably is. Someone asked Harbaugh if he's OK and will play and he said he doesn't know because he never comments on that kind of stuff. Did say it doesn't seem serious though. Hopefully just precautionary.

He got dinged up for sure in the Maryland game. One of the guys said so in the post-game interviews on Jansens podcast. Not sure how serious the injury or what it means for this week

He left the Maryland game early due to an injury and was sent to the locker room. From my memory, there was never an update on his status. (I was only half listening to the broadcast).

Hawkins looked okay on the sideline after the injury. He was riding the book. There was nothing obviously wrong with him (wasn't limping or favoring his arm or anything).

Hear that OSU? Riding the book.
We came to play football and play school.

Is "riding the book" zoomer speak for studying?
/s
I assume you mean he was riding the exercise bike.

He left maryland game with injury and didn’t return…good luck getting more info than that say before the game.

As athletic as he is, he doesn't seem to know the game like Moore.

Hawkins has seen Olave and Wilson for a few years now, we need his knowledge out there to prevent the big plays. The cerebral part of this game on defense is what will help Michigan stay in it or not. The skills and speed are needed on offense for us. Hawkins is less likely to bite on playaction and have Olave rocketing by in the end zone than one of our younger guys.

You have ZERO evidence to support this take, lol. You're literally just making shit up.
You could've just said "I think we'd be better off with Moore." Which is ridiculous, but at least it's just your opinion and not some asinine claim about a 5th year senior and 3 year starter not knowing the game like a true freshman.

I like moore over moten in this game

Hope he’s there, as he’s one of the few players on our roster with no eligibility next year. A true Michigan man, who stuck with the program despite needing a year of prep school to get eligible and has seen some leaner years, I want him on the field to help bring us all the way back.

Hawkins is playing tomorrow

Actually I don’t think he matches well with the speed of osu….he will be picked on all day, but he’s been with us all the way, here’s to you B-Hawk! Have a game!
November 26th, 2021 at 11:58 AM ^
Hawkins should be athletic enough unless we are asking him to do stupid stuff.
November 26th, 2021 at 4:30 PM ^
Actually maybe I’m thinking of Moten
November 26th, 2021 at 2:01 PM ^
You have to stop the run too though.
We could see Hawkins, Hill and Moore on the field all together.
If that's the case, just picture Hawkins as a hybrid LB (even though that's actually more Dax).
I think we're going to need him because I think we're going to have to be ready to move Dax to CB if one of our guys can't hold up.
All hands on deck, we've got to get our best 1q out there...don't care which 11 that is.

Wasn’t he one who dropped a key interception against Haskins when we had all of the momentum? If my memory is correct, give this kid the game winning interception then.
November 26th, 2021 at 12:13 PM ^
That was Josh Metellus.
November 26th, 2021 at 1:05 PM ^
Would love to see it, but Venus de Milo has better hands.
November 26th, 2021 at 1:13 PM ^
Ahh, thanks…so many close plays/calls over the years that never went our way I can’t keep them straight.

I don't believe he is on the injury report, so he should be available. Honestly, I'd like to see MacDonald run some of the 3-safety-4-2-5 we see Iowa State deploy so well. It has proven to be pretty effective against the wide spread offenses in the BigXII which is similar to what OSU likes to do offensively. That would lend itself well to Hawkins as a run support safety, opposed to the HG/Ross/Colston rotations. I think OSU will have prepped to exploit our linebackers. If we can deploy a safety in one of their places that may help neutralize part of the OSU game plan to key in on our linebackers.
Also agree with some of the other posters above, he does not matchup well as a coverage safety against OSU. I would lean heavy on Hill and Moore there.
